What Seahawks fans are saying...

K-hawk, you really need to watch some tape of Cam and then ask yourself if Wilson is being asked to make the same kinds of throws Can is... if you come back and say yes it proves that you either don't know what you're looking at or you're too big of a homer to admit it.

My advice would be to hold off on making any grand proclamations about Wilson before you see how year 2 pans out, things can change dramatically....

We've already covered this. Wilson can make every throw. He does make every throw. What throws, exactly, are out there that the rest of the universe doesn't know about?

I also previously stated the difference between Cam and Wilson is not what they *can* throw, but what they choose to throw. This is not about physical ability or scheme, it is about decision-making. Wilson chooses to play smart and avoid high-risk throws. Thus, more TDs, fewer INTs. That's being a QB as opposed to being an athlete. Wilson, thankfully, is both. He can make any throw.

As far as any proclamations, I haven't made any. Who do you think you are speaking to? You seem to have me confused with someone else. I have only talked about where the two QBs have been thus far and are right now.

But, I will make a proclamation, as I did last year. I had no clue who Wilson was when Seattle drafted him because I don't watch college ball. (Frankly, I don't have time for it.) I had to go do my due diligence. Everything, and I mean everything and everyone said the same things about him: monster film guy, studies harder than virtually anybody else, extremely well-organized, born leader, nicest guy in the world, very smart, physically talented, never makes a mistake twice, doesn't get flustered, absolutely focused, football smart, always learning.

Oh, and he walked on in a big time program, called a team meeting to declare he intended to start and to win, learned the playbook in three weeks, proceeded to take the team to the Rose Bowl and took the game to the last play, and all of this in a new type of system he'd never played in and while setting the NCAA record for QB rating at something like 191.

That's all. Just that. No Heisman, of course, but how many Heisman busts have we seen? A lot.

Do you watch Gruden's QB camp vids each year? Before the draft Gruden was saying Wilson would be a starter if given a chance. After the draft, he said the same. Guess what?

The fact  that every coach, every teammate, every person from HS through the draft were saying he same things about Wilson made it clear this is a rock solid young man. I wanted him as the starter before training camp opened, and after the KC game in pre-season Week 3 I told my brother Wilson would be a top ten QB by QB rating, and probably a top five.

He was #4 for the season. On these boards you will see I am called a troll simply for having a different opinion. those are the tongue-lollers. Real fans with some knowledge engage, and not defensively.

I'm not your typical, half-brain dead football fan. I look, I study if it interests me, and I'm never out trolling. Idiots who do nothing but insult others and rant and rage with their tongues lolling out the side of their mouths bore me.

I knew what Wilson was before he started his first regular season game. Still do. So let me break it down for you: Barring injury, Wilson will be a H of F QB. There is exactly zero doubt about this in my mind.

But this last class is exceptional. It should outshine '83. I think it likely a healthy RGIII and Luck will get to the H of F, too. Tannehill is also looking good. Poor what's-his-name behind RGIII might be as good as any of them. Too bad he's stuck on that bench. But, then, RGIII may not last that long, so...

I'm not as sold on Kaepernick as some. I don't see the same mental toughness yet. He looked like a deer in the headlights in Seattle last season. Cam also has the talent to get there, but isn't yet as focused and mature as Wilson, as far as I can tell. He was visibly upset on the sidelines in our game last season. But, heck, he's only 23, I think. Maybe this is the season he steps forward with his leadership and maturity. The reports about him indicate that is his intention and that he is doing it, so... If he gets shut down tomorrow like he did last year, the look on his face and in his eyes will tell us how far he's come in the offseason.

This is probably the Golden Age of NFL QBs.

Cheers

Oh! You really got me there! Except I've never been to Seattle, don't really listen to grunge, but did live in NC and Florida for a combined 8 years or so.

Bandwagon. How original. Shall I break down the logical fallacies? Nah...

Fan since 1975... and they didn't start playing till '76.

So you claim you've been a fan of the Seahawks since 1975 but say that you have never once been to Seattle?

This troll is done. Stick a fork in him.

Pretend you weren't doing the same with Cam BEFORE he'd had one good season. And are still doing so after two good, but not mind-blowing years. You can keep hyping his yardage his rookie season, but that means little. That was largely situational since he was virtually the only weapon the team had. You will see: When Carolina has a fully balanced offense, Cam's numbers will be much more like last year than his rookie year - because other players will also be producing.

That was the case with Wilson. Even after Seattle's offense exploded in the second half of the season, Wilson's numbers were not gaudy. They did not need to be. It's a team sport.

Wilson has never had a year of non-excellent production; not HS, not college, not the NFL. Why would we expect this year to be different, exactly? Because you are butt-hurt because a whole passel of new QBs came out last year and took the spotlight off Cam?

By the way, you know what was impressive in Wilson's various record set last year? The TDs. Not because of how many, but because 1. when he had a chance for the sole record at 27 he didn't take it and 2. because it was coupled with only ten INTs. Cam had 21 TDs and 19 INTs his rookie year. But, hey, we got nothing to be excited about with Wilson. Nope.

Peyton Manning, the co-recordholder? 26 TDs and 28 INTs. It took him seven years to post a 100+ passer rating. It took Wilson one year. It took him six years to post a 2.6:1 or better TD:INT ratio. It took Wilson one. It took him 5 years to post 64%+ accuracy. It took Wilson one.

Cam: 19 to 12 TD: INT or 1.58:1.

Best passer rating: 86.

Best accuracy: 60%.

I find it sad when a fan base cannot acknowledge and respect players from other teams. WE know Cam is a force. I've seen no fan post here saying otherwise. We know he can run. We know he can throw.

But so can Wilson. And the stats say he has done so better than Cam. It's not an insult. It's there in black and white. Get over it.

It will be exciting to see Cam when you have a complete offense, no doubt. Don't expect me to apologize for the fact Seattle already built a full offense.

Wilson is the better QB, Cam the better athlete. That's just the way it is until Cam does something to change that perception.

How about some facts for you? QBR, weeks 11 - 21 1 Russell Wilson 81.7 2 Colin Kaepernick 81.2 3 Peyton Manning 79.6 4 Cam Newton 76.2 5 Aaron Rodgers 71.3

Here's one that has Cam #2 and Wilson #3. Interestingly, they emphasize TD/INT by total. Given he has two seasons, and others on that list have 1, that's idiotic. As posted above, Wilson's rookie ratio blows away Cam's rookie and career ratios. Funny that he asks who the best young QBs ARE, but focuses on what Cam will be.

http://www.sports-central.org/sports/2013/02/19/the_best_young_quarterbacks.php

This guy has Wilson 3rd, Cam 5th.

http://thehotread.com/nfl/nfls-top-young-quarterbacks/

Here we find Russel 12th, Cam 16th. Interestingly, the writer has 9 QBs with a lower QB rating listed above Wilson.

Anyway....

You could have saved a lot if time. I generally don't read opposing fans posts.

Here's why no one here cares what you say. How do you know he's not as mature as Wilson. Have you been in the locker room with them both? The film room? The weight room. Oh, I'm sure you've been in meetings with him.

How about this for being a leader. Cam and auburn are down big to Alabama. Cam has an incredibly emotional speech that leads the team out to win the game, leading them to a national championship not long after.

But, he looked upset on the sideline! He's not mature! I assume you never watched Michael Jordan on the sidelines, then? Kobe Bryant? How about Tom Brady? I've watched Peyton Manning cuss out his offensive linemen, then go sit by himself on the bench. He must not be a leader!

You're so starved for attention, you come to an opposing team's board, make claims like you know everything about the people who play the game. Just like Nolan Nawrocki, you think Cam is something he's not: disingenuous. Just like Nolan Nawrocki, you have no fuging idea who Cam is. And just like Nolan, you too will be eating crow.

I'm done with you. It's not even worth the effort to troll you anymore. Enjoy your Seattle games this year. Enjoy being the bitch to the 49ers.

Why are you guys trolling your own site? You actually believe fans of teams only come from the city they are located in? Really? And if you've never trekked to Mecca, well then you're not a fan?

For chirssake, say something useful.

I moved from Olympia, WA to Charlotte mostly to attend more Panthers games.

My fanhood has *never* been questioned.

There is a very big difference in adopting a team versus jumping on a bandwagon and claiming to be a fan of a team for 38 years, yet never once visiting the city and going to see the team in person at the stadium.

It is interesting when fans completely buy into the narrative that is being written for them and their team.

Seahawks fans sound like first time fans, incapable of understanding that sometimes teams take a step backwards before forwards again. It has happened to tons of teams who feature young QBs. Will it happen to them this year? Very well could. If they lose tomorrow, watch for the headlines to make a sharp turn and for many of the seattle "fans" to fall off the bandwagon.

If you live no where near Seattle and have never been to a Seattle game, we don't take you seriously... for good reason. Experience tells us not to.
