What he did, when he did it was really dumb. That being said, that's the first time I recall ever seeing player being thrown out for an open hand slap to the facemask.

His penalty should be no more severe than the ones doled out to Williams for fumbling, Olsen for dropping two big passes, Shula for ineptitude, Rivera for crossing his arms and daydreaming of being a winning coach, Lafell for disappearing, Richardson for not selling to ownership who wanted to win again here.
