The future

We all know how horrible this team has been for the past few years due to hurney/fox.. however I am still very excited about what gettleman will do when he gets rid of rivera and the useless talent on the team and truly makes it his team.. I know it's sad the future is the only thing I have to look forwards to but hey at least it's not hurney anymore.

Teams going backwards. Team has not improved. Secondary sucks, and that secondary is injured. Core group of guys just aren't worth building around. Cam looks really bad. Front 7 not doing much. Rivera is on borrowed time so we have a new system coming in. I have zero faith that JR can make a smart hire.

I think he gets a new HC that wants to play old school football......and neither will believe Newton fits that mold. Which he doesn't

Which is why I am not a Gettlemen fan. Cam is a special kid. He needs the right coach to potential tap into all he offers though

He's an athlete and a running quarterback. It is what it is. He was pretty damn impressive his first two seasons. Let Cam be Cam. He will never be a Peyton or a Brees. Let him run wild

I want to see a respectable O-line, a legit #2WR and competent CBs.

In regards to coaching, a OC that will cater to Cam and the offense's strength is ideal.

I have faith in Gettleman to address this, though I'm a bit worried about his seemingly "old school" mentality.

I'm with you on this. That's why I didn't place blame on Shula last week.

Cam doesn't fit Gettle philosophy, but he'll never get JR's blessing to deal Cam, so we'll see more of the same, even with a new coach, leaving Cam to eventually leave Charlotte on a sour note.

that would be so depressing

Well I never understood the DG hype....

No NFL team would even interview the guy....we hire him and suddenly he is crowned the answer to all of our problems.

He believes in playing football the old fashioned way. The sole reason I was against DG is I felt Cam needed a FO all in on him. DG wouldn't even help Cam with a decent OL during Rivera's do or die season

Valid points against gettle, but I think the man has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove that he can be a good GM.. I hope.

The big thing is...we do have talent on this team....I mean come on Jake took us to a superbowl.....Jake is given much love from the carolina family...but he was not a good QB not even sure he was an average QB...granted we have a good RBs too..but williams is decent and tolbert is great for short yardage which for some reason we have not really used...we have  a decent front 7, a great TE, a good QB that could be great, smitty and a few other avg position players....and a great kicker....reminds of Kasey a little....We should be able to compete with this team and win....something needs to change now and fast....or this season will be lost....

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
