So what Rivera is saying is Cam cant handle pressure?

 

Yep time to get a new QB.

 

not sure if you were serious or not, but:

 

"Too much hinges on people thinking it's all about just the quarterback,'' Rivera said on Friday. "Yeah, he's got to play well, but so do the other guys around him. One of the things I try to tell the players is we need 11 guys doing one thing at a time, not one guy doing 11.

 

 

no one said there's too much pressure on cam to win, they said a quarterback can't be the only one with pressure on him to win everything, of which cam is one, on a team where this is the case example. the title of this thread was worded terribly; while technically a correct way of expressing it, it's a wholly inaccurate representation of what anyone with a clue is actually saying.

I was going to say if Rivera said Cam couldn't handle pressure he needed to be shown the door immediately.  So D Newton was paraphrasing.

I notice a handful or two of the members here seem to be very thin skinned when it comes to critiqueing a certain quarterback.  One might get the opinion that they think Newton is more important than the team as a whole.

There are an awful lot of people that think that because of how poor the team as a whole has been, it is Newton's fault.

We've already got Dat Alice who practically lives here, but at least his team plays in our division.

Based on Smitty's comments, it sounds like Cam is putting too much pressure on himself to win right now (pressing).

He'll settle in and get it figured out, I have no doubts about that.

With the incomplete teams with HUGE holes we have had around him.....we ask to do win.

Franchise puts the pressure on him

How? I mean Cam was a Heisman winner, former no1 overall pick, and a NFL QB. Too much pressure? Better suck it up and win.

The Cam should win regardless stance....

Yeah, that has been Carolina's stance as well. Other teams with young QBs believe in surrounding the QB with talent and a complete ball club.
