Ravens today....up 27-9 with 1:08 left. Do I need to tell you want the Super Bowl winning HC did?

He kicked a FG. OH NO... THE HORROR!

27-9 is different that 38-0 and completely dominating the opponent to how many total yards again? there is a flow to the game. the giants were defeated by the 3rd quarter.

Oh, so being up by 3 scores with 1:08 seconds left is totally different....gotcha.

did you watch this game? did you think the giants showed up at all on offense? or did i just drop 3 hits of acid and completely go out of my mind with the walls and tv melting around me.

there is a flow to the game..

or maybe zod is giving you a paycheck for the hits from this thread.

CRA, dude...let it go. You have your opinion on this play. Fine by me. You have to realize you are not going to convince anybody you are right.

This was not a big picture type play. It was a "Do the right thing" type play. You, and probably 10 other people in the world would have kicked the FG. The rest of the known universe would have done just what Rivera did.

Thread was silly. But hey, this is the Huddle. It is just one of many.

Perhaps bc I understand people are allowed and encouraged to have opposing viewpoints if done in an adult manner....

It is basically the same thing. Some folks don't get it. 99.9% of the rest do get it.

I get that you think that you don't ever take your foot off the gas. But in the real world. Yea, you do have to pump the brakes occasionally. This was one of those situations where pumping the brakes was the right call.

You do not embarrass your opposition. It just isn't done. Only a bully piles it on. I am glad Rivera had more class than to add insult to injury.

Rivera calling off the dogs does in no way show he is weak. We whuuped them good. There was no earthly reason to add a meaningless FG.

CRA you are totally off base and arrguing just makes it worse. It is an unwritten rule in the NFL. You don't Intentionally embarrass another team. That is unprofessional. Believe what you want but let this thread die. It takes away from good posts you have made in the past.

Lets talk about how Williams is over the hill and is all washed up instead.

Exactly.

The only coaches who try to run up the score and embarrass the other team coach in the SEC....not the NFL.

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
