Last Year 3 Games Into The Season........

The Panthers were 1-2 with their only victory against a Head Coach-less New Orleans Saint team in disarray.

 

Trailing a 3-0 Atlanta Falcon team and tied with the Bucs for 2nd place already 2 games back.

 

This year the Panthers are again 1-2 with their only victory against a Giant team on the decline and in disarray.

 

Again tied in 2nd place 2 games back this year to the 3-0 Saints.

 

What does Ron Rivera and the Panthers do this year to avoid quickly falling out of contention for the NFC South Crown or a Wild Card spot as they did last year?

 

What's the difference this year to last?

The only reason the Giants are in disarray is because they are losing. It's not the same issue as the Saints had last year. They are really unfortunate to go to Dalles, then play Denver, and then play us. That's a tough draw. Quit searching for reasons to calm your own excitement and bask in the glory of a shutout.

The last shutout was in 2008, didn't we make the playoffs that year? Weren't the chiefs in disarray that year? When's the last time Dwill was averaging 100 yards per game?

First difference that comes to mind is our D.

Next is the fact that I still do not believe the Saints are as good as their record would indicate. That D will be tested and pressure always frustrates Bree's when he can't step up in the pocket.

The giants are better than they look its just an odd set of circumstances why they look so poor. They really deflated after we went up 17-0 and knew we got the ball after the half.

This is the cats team I was looking for. Seatle was a beast and we hung tough. Buffalo was a let down "trap game" and NY was ths team finally understanding what it takes to be successful.

Prepare your bodies boys, this s abut to get good.

The next few games may actually be a fairly favorable stretch. We could actually be decently on the positive side by mid year.

The last half of the season is what will tell the story.

Like last year? And the year before. The beginning of the year will tell the story. This team has to worry Ron will be fired to win, so I hope the media and us fines keep up the fire Rivera mantra.

It's playoffs or busy for Ron so that's what will tell the story of this season. For us there is no favorable stretch. We can beat anyone, we can lose to anyone.

To build on your statement of going up 17. That is 3 games where we have scored right before the half. We have a great 2-4 minute offense.

what needs to change is that foot of rivera's needs to stay on that gas pedal and avoid tapping the brake pedal and that pink slip needs to be right there in his rearview mirror. if he slows up, he's done.

Only reason the giants appear in disarray is because our dline can get to immobile eli unlike last year. Welcome to the new NFL where your QB may need to be mobile to at least get a chance to throw away the football and not lose yardage.

I don't honestly remember the last time I saw a performrance like today's from the Panthers, though the Giants game with Matt Moore starting comes to mind.

 

Coughlin's record against the Panthers is 6-2, both losses being blowouts.  I guess when it comes to Coughlin's Giants, we either lose to them or beat the snot out of 'em.

It's much like this and past year's teams ability to flash and then shut it off for long stretches.

Leaving us fans furious and pounding our heads against a wall in frustration.

      We have our own issues with Bryce but it’s crazy how this franchise was dragged through the media the last 2 years for missing out on CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams   *whispers* Bryce played better than both of them in the playoffs the real mistake was mortgaging the future for Bryce when Drake Maye could have been there the next year

      O-line: 1 major player for Tackle (draft or FA) and a Center (if we don't resign Mayes). WR: Low pick or good FA signing? D-LIne: Def need a NT and a DE/OLB who can rush the QB. FA or Draft? TE; I don't know what they want to think of what they do? MLB: I think it's out 1st rd pick, but getting another in FA wouldn't hurt, thoughts? DBs; We need another sticky QB to play more man when needed. Again a 1st or 2nd rd pick IMO.  S: Everybody says we need a rangy centerfielder, draft or FA? Would you take one high in the draft? I don't use players because there are no guarantees who's there, just asking what makes sense. We know they'll fill "all" the holes in FA and then draft, so which FA are the better ones and which are just 1 year fillers? My thought: FA - Big DT, DE/OLB & MLB. 2 of 3 as those take a which to develop. Draft: MLB or Tackle, DB in the 2nd, DE/OLB in the 3rd. I think they need a solid T if Icki doesn't return better than before and Moton is getting old.  I also think thy need to resign BC on the O-line.
