So what in the hell do I think of this team?

I was at the game, I saw that beautiful sight. I had forgotten that feeling. But how should I take it? Was that ass whooping we laid on Eli what we are capable of? Are the giants terrible? Did the football gods hear our screams? wtf? Yes we should of won the last two games but how many times have we said that? It usually just doesn't happen. Im sure some of you will take this as complaining but when you're so used to Sundays being a day of heart break and you witness what looks like a team that can do no wrong ( - that int) it's kind of just unbelievable. Oh I'm thrilled with that win. It brings hope back. I just hope it's not false hope. But... Good grief it was awesome to watch

Keep Pounding, bitches

here's how i feel about this team after yesterday's massacre of the giants.

i now know what they are capable of this season.

there is no excuse for them not playing/coaching that aggressively from start to finish this year.

they have officially raised the bar of expectation.

like i said elsewhere, i don't expect a 38-0 win every week, but i do expect that type of non-stop, no tapping the brake, full on aggression going forward.

if they don't live up to that...if they start tapping the brakes...rivera needs to be gone.

this is the type of performance they have to have every week if they are going to win.

It was said elsewhere on this board, but I really believe when we went for it on 4th and 1 on their 2 yard line on our first scoring play something clicked.  Rivera bucked up and didn't simply kick a field goal.  The mentality of the team changed then and there.  Was it just for that game?  That remains to be seen.

They're a very flawed team that went against one even more flawed.

There was a weird snow ball effect but if not for a holding call and a cam pass slipping through a wormhole in a defenders chest and Ito Steve smiths hands it would have been 7-14.

They have the talent like we thought

They have th guts and killer instinct that we hoped

They need to maintain focus and be led.

That is all.

I'm expecting Cam to do this. He looked like hot garbage yesterday till he got his mojo by going to the ground game and making plays. This is where he will flourish. Adjusting to what the d gives him and having the intelligence to recognize it and exploit it.

I count on Rivera to give him free reign to find his groove each week and not allow Shula to put him in a little box.

I don't think it's much to ask. Given that, I like our chances to beat the shat outta some people with what season remains.

I really like the aggressiveness. It also seemed like they let Cam just play. He looked more natural out there. But again it could also be that the Giants are just garbage, but I really cant see that offense of theirs being too bad with those play makers. Anyway, im once again pumped for the next game.

And trust me nobody... wants to be that guy.

This means nothing, we beat a irrelevant team and we have already been doing so for years. Rivera needs to do a lot more, he needs a positive record and needs to maintain it. He also needs to beat the Saints who are coming back pretty strong. The front seven will not always play such crap offensive lines. We were 7-9, we have won games before...just not while it still mattered.

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
