not a Cam hater but please keep perspective, one good game does not a superbowl quarterback make. Cam needs to be consistant over the course of the season.

Yes and he has been very inconsistent and has not shown significant improvement with reads and progressions. I'm a fan but got to keep it real. Soreneson had a good piece on this very topic today.

Hmmmmh.

Good point. It's as if Cam is in his own world of criticism by both some Panther fans and haters.

Even sometimes announcers, will not give him the immediate benefit of the doubt during something good, and are quick to blame him (instead of the line or WR) when something bad happens. It's just how they feel, are conditioned inside.

It's easy to critize the one who is being criticized. Especially when you don't want to deal with the reality.

Checking in. I literally knew this topic would be here when I clicked on forums. Sad how the creator of this forum is the one responsible for it and he how so many you think you HAVE to have a thread like this to say HA, WHERE ARE YOU!!!!! I TOLD YOU.

A elite quarterback one game does not make. Nor a bad one.

Remember, combined wins of the teams he's beat this year...... 1. I'M SO IMPRESSED.

Hey BigBoss, why'd you run away from that other thread when you were presented with actual facts? Strange.

You problem may lie in relying on Sorensen for football analysis

And how has the rest of the team helped him? U seriuosly believe other QBs like Luck aren't having the same problem as Cam?

LOL thats how its always been, either play perfect or get the criticism hammer.

I can't speak for everyone but I can recognize trends. The Cam criticism was at an all time high last week because he had 4 costly turnovers. If he goes 1td 1int against Arizona nobody criticizes him last week. If you have 4 turnovers you get criticized. There is no need to sensationalize it.

Because he is the most important piece on our Offense and his flaws will become more evident. My only beef with Cam is that he is not a good leader. He is an amazing Athlete that can put numbers but when is about leading like other young QB's do he doesn't do well.

No QB is a leader with out a good head coach that they believe in who can lead them.

This disqualifies your post right there.

RG3 was called a great leader. Is he a great leader this year with their losing, and all we know about RG3 now (that was evident last year)? Is Kaepernick a good leader?? Did you see his tantrums on the side lines this year, and his junvenile behavior off the court? That was always there last year as well. And How many Panther comeback wins did the defense blow at the end of games? That's young QB stuff/leadership talk is nonsense.

You get my drift.

Absolutely agree.

But, if you mention something like this, you're shunned as a nonbeliever. Or a hater. Or some other term that is ridiculous.

I've talked about how bad Bell is for months. I don't think anyone hate hasn't, actually. Same goes for LaFell, and Scott, and JStew, et all. Yet, everyone freaks out when something bad is said about Cam.

That's what I'm saying...they are all Panthers right...why does everyone get so defensive of Cam...it's baffling.

The criticism last week didn't center around "Geez Cam had a bad game".

It was

"Cam has not progressed at all"

"We should look to trade Cam"

Cam isn't a franchise QB"

Cam should make everyone better"

Geno > Cam"

And more stupid shyt.

Now you guy are acting like "All I said is he had a bad game"

    • Call me crazy but if you’re in the bottom 7 in efficiency using Zone 84% of the time why not try something else? You paid Jaycee top 5 CB money use him more effectively. Zone is only efficient if you can generate a good pass rush to force a QB into mistakes otherwise you will get picked apart
    • Good Lord this board has become a cesspool of negativity and where fandom becomes something twisted and unrecognizable.
    • Yeah, I could jump right into the unbelievable Bryce debate now that some people are trying to flip the script because Bryce Young has, at most, a handful of decent games as a pro, but that's going to work itself out. Suffice it to say that I've seen better QBs (with an s) in a Panthers uniform, and I've certainly seen better QBs be drafted while we're playing around with Bryce, one of them who beat the crap out of us already this season... Let's forget about Bryce (and his markedly underwhelming play since he's been here); I think that most sane fans will agree that drafting him was an error, but it happens. Sure, it doesn't happen to the tune of King's ransom---including your main receiver---but it happens. You bet, you lose. Speaking of receivers...and betting and losing... Oh, man, we drafted Xavier Legette. Yes, just like with Bryce, I've entered "the dark side." Some Huddlers were telling us from the beginning, and they were right. But, I'm not apologizing for waiting to see what a guy's got before making my decision on him. X was a one-year wonder at South Carolina who parlayed some really nice production that season, a great personality and thick country accent, into becoming a first round pick (but only in Carolina). For Dan Morgan and company, He was a big swing that has turned into a big whiff (and I can still feel the ill breeze from that one). Sh¡t happens, right? Well, not so fast. Ladd McConkey was the decidedly more polished receiver who was literally ready to hit the ground running as soon as stepping onto the field as a pro. Ladd was never the biggest guy (though not the smallest), but he was the guy that could run routes, always seemed to get open---no question---and had the same speed as X, but with legit quickness and nuanced shake and bake. But Dan chose the project. He chose the guy where the game speed looks more like a tractor trailer than a 5.0 mustang. Look, I've supported X (just like Bryce) many many a day, but no more. Now I'm not saying that I won't root for the guy. Just like with Bryce, he seems like a great kid. But as far as giving excuses for the kid, and, perhaps more importantly, waiting for some miraculous breakout, I'm done with that. I've seen enough. You don't draft a project for a project. And yes, Bryce had proven to be a project after his first season. In my mind, drafting a supposedly number one receiver that needs lots of development for a starting quarterback that needs immediate help to try and further his development is not going to lead to good things. Pick the surest guy. Or at least pick the one who appears to be the surest guy, because picking can be tricky... especially when you're too busy tricking yourself.
