Not surprised, I had high hopes for him even during the draft process.

He gave me his sweaty gloves in AZ so now he's officially one of my faves.

A lot of that may have to do with gameplanning. With Martin out and Bradford preferring the short passing game and a relatively unknown RB in Stacy Ron expected his Dline to force both those teams to abandon the run early and so less need for a Fua and more pass rushers so thy could be fresher in the 3rd and 4th.

I'm not a big college football fan, so I didn't really get to see KK play prior to him coming here.

 

From the first time I saw him on the field as a Panther, I knew we had an absolute stud. He is as quick in the short area as any DT I've ever seen, and that covers a lot of football seasons.

 

Star is an excellent player, but it would not surprise me at all if Short has just as good, if not better, long-term performance than Star.

 

On the other hand, Star does some amazing things too. Bottom line, I think we have 2 potential greats on our hands.

Actually I kind of thought this was a guy Rivera might have fought for over an O lineman that Gettles may have wanted.

I watched a lot if big 10 football last tear and saw the incredible potential of kk. He was just inconsistent. I am happy the panthers are getting that consistency out of him.

 

He hardly came off the field.  Something like 94% of the snaps.

Because he's a defensive guy and that position is critical to the defense. Thought I phrased it as speculation already, if not then thats what was implied.

 

Gettle and Ron had disagreements right? . . plural. I assumed Star was a no brainer, AJ Klein probably not too much of a stretch, Barner. . . those are guys we needed for insurance. They dont seem like the kind of picks you disagree over. So whats left? Kugbilla and KK.
