Bucs will get a good QB and new coach....NFC South changing

The Panthers are poised to become a very tough team in the division....even more so next year when we reload on offense and tighten up the secondary. New Orleans will always be a hassle as long as Brees is there (not a spring chicken any more), but I feel we match up well with them. The Falcons are falling off and will be rebuilding. Looking forward to the seasons upcoming when we are the top dogs and dominating the teams that have been crapping on us for so long on a constant basis. The Bucs are going to be our main competition very soon....they will grab a franchise QB and actually have a coach. They have talent no doubt with a good mix of young players and vets. Panthers and Bucs battling for the division and the other two sucking hind teet.....that will be fun days ahead!

Haven't we heard the last 3 years the Bucs would be dangerous?  They loaded up on big money FA and look at them, they have become the Washington Redskins of the NFC South.  Right now, we are truly in the best position in the NFC South.  The Bucs are going to be in a rebuilding phase, the Falcons will be rebuilding and lose Matt Ryans security blanket after this year, and White is slowing down.  The Saints will be our biggest competition, but Brees is 34 now.

i'm sure they we're thinking the same thing two years ago.  that's why i'm pulling for riverboat.  we may replace him and be worse off.

they were thinking that way when they hired gruden. got a SB with dungy's team and then started their decent to the bottom.

then they hired morris thinking that he would get them back to the top, only it got worse.

then they hired schiano thinking that he would get them back to the top, only it got worse.

funny, they went from mr. nice guy who knew what he was doing (dungy) to mr. argumentative prick who kind of had a clue (gruden) to mr. nice guy who didn't have a clue (morris) to a tyrant who doesn't have a clue.

i think the pattern will continue. they'll hire some old really friendly guy to be their young players "daddy" and still manage to suck.

I am sure Glennon will be their QB for the next years to come. He has talent.

seem to remember that being said about freeman when schiano was hired.

i never bought it. don't buy that either. glennon might have talent, but i doubt it's enough to warrant the new coach keeping and not replacing with his guy in the first couple years.

I heared from guys down in Tampa Freeman had many character issues like no shows on his own kids summer camp, missing team meetings, party nights before the games... Don't know how much of that is true though. Glennon appears to be smarter to me. But who cares, it's the Bucs. ;-)

freeman was morris' guy. coached him in college one year.

glennon was schiano's guy. schiano liked him in high school and tried recruiting him, but nc state won. apparently schiano never stopped dreaming of him.

the next coach will want their guy if glennon isn't absolutely tearing things up, which i don't think he will be.

    • Well, everyone is a critic.  not much meat on the bone here in analysis but if the team needs motivation … lol   I have also heard a lot of talking head or two say that ‘Young is not in the same class as most of these teams and that in 12 of the 17 games he is the lesser QB   BR write up below  2025 record: 8-9 Last season, the Carolina Panthers made the playoffs for the first time since 2017. They won the division. Bryce Young made strides, throwing for 3,011 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions with a 63.6 percent completion rate. Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan won the 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year award. In free agency, the Panthers signed edge-rusher Jaelan Phillips and linebacker Devin Lloyd to bolster their middling defense. Carolina can win with complementary football if the offense continues to trend in the right direction. In 2026, Carolina will play the AFC North and NFC North on a first-place schedule, which includes matchups against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and the Seattle Seahawks. The club will have a much tougher 17-game slate than it had last year, which may lead to regression. The Panthers aren't on the same level as the league's top teams. We'll see the gap between them and division-winning clubs from the previous season. 2026 projection: 6-11
    • If someone key is hurt and your bye week helps you by not forcing you to play without them, it is at a good time.  No way to know about that ahead of time.   I would concede that with 17 games and let’s say you are playoff bound, you would love to have it late
    • Hate it for him personally and hope he recovers well. But honestly, reaching an injury settlement and moving on would probably be a best case scenario for the Panthers. This signing always felt like a desperate knee-jerk reaction to losing out on Milton Williams. Williams was a logical scheme fit while Wharton just wasn't. He's best used as a rotational interior pass rushing specialist in an even front. He's way too small to play the nose in a 3-4 and he lacks the length and juice to play the end. Healthy he's a nice roster piece in the right scheme at the right price but we overpaid him to play him in the wrong scheme. The signing just never made any sense to me and I said so at the time.
