we've won 4 games. I need to see about 4 more wins in a row before I start thinking we have playoff hopes.

i don't.

i've seen enough of us this tear and enough of the rest of the conference to know that no one has this all sewn up and really theres no team that we can't beat. every team has issues that can hold them back.

we are definitely and legitimately in the mix.

can't speak for him, but being in the mix isn't comforting enough for me..  I'd rather see, and maybe he meant, this team must capitalize on their chances while their in the mix..  these 4 wins were nice, but now it's time to win against playoff caliber teams (after ATL)..

I know people want to bang this drum that any win is nice, but the only way to get to the playoffs and make this season mean anything will come in the tougher part of the schedule...

i didn't mean to sound really comfortable with our chances. i'm not sure i conveyed this all that well, but what i was trying to say is that there isn't really any teams who should feel really comfortable with their chances. there's just not a whole lot of seperation between the top 6-7 teams in the conference as far as talent. the couple teams at the top have had a couple games that they barely skated by with a win and then there's teams like ours who just barely lost a couple games.

no division really has much seperation between the top couple teams. nfcw is pretty tight between seahawks and 49ers and the cards are still hanging in there. in the nfcn theres kind of a three way race going on, the whole nfce basically sucks so much so that the giants who have only won two games still have a shot, and then there's the nfcs which is basically between us and the saints who are only 2 games ahead.

this is a year nobody should feel comfortable with their chances of getting in the playoffs. at this rate, we are just as likely as about anyone at getting in. and again, it's not because we are so great...it's that really nobody is.

    • You're assuming just as well.   Morgan and Canales were hired 3 days apart.  I believe it was partially due to their connections in Seattle.  i believe Tepper wanted some familiarity with his GM and HC.  It is so easy to sit back and arm-chair QB over draft picks.  You don't know what the philosophy was going into the 2024 draft.  I believe Canales and Morgan were drafting for the future.  XL and Brooks point to that philosophy. Name me one GM that is 100% on draft picks.  Just one.  You're not going to find one.    I think year one picks weren't for what can you do for me now but Potential.   XL hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st rounder.  I think we all can agree on that. However, there still is hope he comes around.  What I believe they saw in him was his speed after the catch.  He needs to get more consistent but when he gets the ball you kind of hold your breath just a second because if he gets free, he's gone.  The Brooks pick was a signing for the future, and no one could have guessed he would re-injure the same ACL.  This makes the pick look bad but Dallas was ready to draft him later that same round.  IMO we'll have to see what happens next season before we can call this a bust. Wallace has improved each season and for a third rounder has done well.  Sanders has shown flashes and considering the pick in the 4th round it wasn't a bad pick.  His sophomore season IMO was a little bit more productive.  Smith-Wade has been a good addition and has played well.  For a 5th round pick to get as much playing time as he has.  Most picks below round 3 should take a couple of years to get up to speed.  He's been a decent player.  Crumedy, no comment We turned Barrett into Jackson.  This was an amazing move and basically got a starting CB for a 7th round pick.  Pretty shrewd if you ask me. Coker, maybe the best Free Agent signing of the 2024 draft class. So, in short, you can't say that the draft was a bust.  It isn't a home run but all but one are still on the team and outside of Brooks have made contributions to wins.  2025 draft class has been much better with almost every pick making contributions this season.  Now take Fitterer's two years and compare them to Morgan and tell me that they have the same philosophy.
    • He hasn’t led crap, he’s on loaded teams and a piece of the puzzle. And he’s he has improved drastically but it took the ultimate QB whispers in Shanahan and KOC. You put him on this Panther team and he’s back to normal Darnold
    • Slavin and Jarvis week to week. Florida cheap shots took out our two best players.  I’d start KK so he can beat the brakes off someone.
