Apparently Martin has been pranked and bullied by Dolphins teammates to the point where he won't be playing for them.  I've never seen or heard of something like this happening before, does anyone know if he can become a free agent and maybe we make a run at him.  I've talked to a sportswriter who is a friend of mine (and a Phins fan) who feels Martin has panned out fine on the field and is a quality player.

Scott Pioli said he did work on both players when he was working as a GM. He said Martin had a normal personality but didn't fit the scheme. He said Incognito was a bad dude and he had no interest in working with the guy.

I think our Oline is full of nice guys, I think Martin would be happy with us and an upgrade at RT. It would probably be difficult to get him on our team but I would welcome him.

Dude must be soft in the head to get bullied by your own team mates.

knock on him in the draft was how "soft" he was. he was "bullied" cuz he was forced to pay for teammates dinners and things, and also when he sat at the lunch table, the guys already sitting there all got up and left

Wrong thread, but rumor that Dolphins vets forcing using young players for money. That's fugged up if it's true. You're a VET and millionaire! Setting bad examples. I never get the locker room stuffs. That's where men becomes "kids".

Oh gosh, they're forcing these rookies to pick up the check for dinner?

What an outrage!!! I've never heard of such a travesty.

What next? Are they going to strap him to the goal post after practice?

or worse... MAKE HIM CARRY THEIR PADS!?!?!?!

This sir shalt not stand. This isn't hazing. This is torture.

SOMEONE WRITE A LETTER TO CONGRESS!!!

    • The more I research this draft, the more I think this: All of the tackles are developmental. I think, if you have a proven veteran at LT and a solid player (with a knee at 32?) at RT, you go ahead and draft players who might be a year away. They can serve as depth while working for a shot to start. In my opinion, based on the sites I rely on for draft info--there are players who could fall to day 3 who have issues to work out but have demonstrated success on the college level.  Here are the OTs I am watching: Jude Bowery, BC. Aamil Wagner, ND Isiah World, Ore D. Crownover, TexAM Isaiah Jatta, BYU (I really like the first two)
    • I get it. When you have obvious pressing needs you're ideally looking for a starter at #19. Obviously you draft for depth later in the draft but you want early impact out of your early picks. The context of that quote was the 19th overall pick. The other thing to note is that this is also peak lying season. You don't want to telegraph your intentions. Even if we were seriously considering or even targeting OT at 19 the smart move would be to downplay it. Virtually everyone expected us to go pass rusher in the 1st last year and lo and behold we go WR which very few people were talking about as a legit possibility.
