BI Software

Hey board,

Has anyone hear done work in the BI Software (Business Intelligence) field?

I just got an offer in the DC area in BI Software Sales and was wondering if anyone knew much about how the marketplace is looking.  The company has a pretty versatile software that can be mobile, embedded into apps and also act as an OS.

My first big offer since I've started looking a month back and I was never considering this field until I got traction in it.

good base + benefits, but I just don't know if I want to be in inside sales right now.  Any suggestions would be good.

Let's hear em!

Will they train you? What is the tenure of their employees? Are they burn and churn?

It is not a telemarkety type inside sales role and they provide good training.  More of a value-selling approach because of the niche.  It's just before 2-3 weeks ago I didn't even know the field existed now I have an offer in it.  The position is more research and strategic based looking to help drive business development.  To summarize what they are, they are in embedded java reporting tools.

Where you at Jase? I need some advice! haha

I declined the offer today.  It was a 40k base with a monthly 1k commission deal so looking at 52k/year meeting quote.

It's crazy how I'm completely geared toward a marketing & design career yet the places I get traction with are all freaking inside sales roles.

    • And even worse you have injuries force you to play anther one dimensional train wreck combine that with Orlov being no were close to as advertised and boom you have 3 defensemen being dressed who couldn't defend my 96 year old grandmother. That said next year having Slavin,Miller,Nikishin,Chatfield gives you the best shutdown d man in the league two large athletic HIGH offensive potential D who can take away time and space....   The more I think about it the more I like this seasons approach, if you bring back burns or aquire anther large RHS with length you have 5 D all over 6'2 and 210 with three of them having great offense too, make no mistake they want size and skill on the blue line now and its almost 100% directed at getting past FL.
    • Honestly the 2024 draft class(minus brooks). All are in line to be starters, expect crumedy who's fighting for a 53.  Still that class was looking terrible, is now looking like 4 starters and maybe 1 depth. Anytime you draft 2 starters and a key depth piece its a good draft. 4 starters are rare and that's with brooks who could have made 5 starters if not for awful luck.  That draft also helped land starter Michael Jackson in a round about way, big bonus..
    • Officially heading to the Jags game week one!  Section 240, visitors side just outside the club section.
