NFL Playbook: NE Patriots vs Carolina Panthers

Its just too many weapons for the Carolina Panthers to overcome and too much time for Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski to be on the same field together even more.. and THE BEST third down back in football in Shane Vereen coming back you better have 3 Luke Kuechlys to make a difference in this game.

What the hell has Shane Vareen done in the NFL to be considered the best 3rd down back?

The guy barely has over 400 career rushing yards since he was drafted and can barely stay on the field.

Tolbert says hello.

Gronkowski is a fragile china doll, and he won't even make it to halftime in this game. When you hear the sideline reporter lady say "his return is doubtful" don't cry like a little girl.

Gronkowski is trouble but I think he can be contained.

Amendola would injure himself reading this forum post.

Don't need 3 Kuechlys.  1 Keuchly and a Thomas Davis is enough.

There is no stepping up in the pocket against us. Tom Brady isn't mobile.  It's going to be a long day for your offense.

Shane Vereen was fast developing into a very good third down back. Right now, he's a guy hoping to get back on the field after breaking his wrist and missing six games. i doubt he is a deciding factor in this game. If healthy,  Vareen can be split wide and become a wide reciever in much the same way as the Rams would employ Marshall Faulk. But again, I doubt he is a game changer this week.

He should be effective. He could have played a couple weeks ago but couldn't because of the conditions of the new IR rule the Pats placed him on. I hope he gets all the touches Boldin and Blount were getting.

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
