Peppers as Captain

Peppers is a helluva leader on the field, he just doesn't want to be a public leader. Watch video, he's very vocal calling his team mates up, etc. He's just too shy to have that roll with the public...

this

i find it funny people say he is not a leader ...when they are not in the locker room at all..so how do they know

Do you think that the team should elect Pep as one of the team captains this season after the hold out? Personally I say..........nah!

this whole thing with fans getting their feelings all hurt because pep wanted to leave is getting old

and it's not a hold out by any means

remember the '07 fiasco where richardson had a talk with peppers and asked him to step up and be a leader, and then he was made a team captain? peppers was completely against it. he didn't want to be a leader, he just wanted to play football.

correct me if i'm wrong, but that's how i remember it

From an outsider's perspective, which is all most of us have, Harris and Beason seem like the true leaders of the defense. Beason was a captain last year, so he'll get the vote again. The other spot is between Harris and Peppers. It will most likely go to Peppers, due to his seniority with the team and overall prominence.

    • Also, you don't really get good value by drafting a center in the first.
    • First off, we haven't been ignoring the defense. We have drafted several defensive players, but, perhaps more importantly, we have added good pieces in free agency. Secondly, the offense was still kinda bad (27th or so depending where you look at). You can't just say we can't pick an offensive guy while acknowledging that the offense wasn't good. Everything is on the table. Like I said above, it seems kind of counterproductive to say that we shouldn't draft an offensive player high unless they're at certain positions. The offense was mediocre at best. Sure, we had an uncanny knack to win some close games at opportune times, but the offense wasn't really good. To me, it makes little sense to put limitations on who/what we should draft when we need an upgrade at so many positions. What you look at is trying to get the best value--bang for your buck so to speak--and that's the way it should be. D-Mo has used FA to set up the draft in order not to be pigeonholed into anything, and that's the way that it should be.
    • Hubert has plenty of money. I don't hate the guy. I think he a legit good guy. This is Ron Rivera all over again for me. It's just very obvious a coaching change is needed and it audka we gottaboart ways with a good guy and I'd much rather it work out but the same issues appearing again and again year after year are clearly shouting what needs to happen. With that said, if we hire Todd Golden, that's it. I'm out. I'd greatly prefer to just keep getting disappointed by Hubert. I can at least stand to root for that.
