I am not talking about the talent of the personnel.

Its about keeping things simple.

If anything a Manning ought to be / could be running tons of formations and personnel groupings with his experience and arm.

More teams should keep things simple and instead of trying to run many looks become great and efficient at one or a few things.

Manning lines up with the same personnel set and simply kills you with his audibles and route combos. Team doesnt know what he is gonna do as they get the same look 90% of the game.

ehh, the reason they are effective like that is because of the talent they have.

Negative. Manning would be doing that with scrubs.

When you do the same thing over and over it becomes second nature. Its the reason why they are so efficient.

The defense gets the same look every time and has no clue what is coming. Draw? Slant? Comeback? Out route? Drags? Curl? etc.

It has everything to do with the versatility and skillset of those guys - it allows Manning to maximize the things he does at the line.

Bolded the important part of your first sentence...

Missing the point.

That would mean the reverse. Someone like Manning should / could be able to run tons of different formations and personnel groupings.

You generally want to keep things simple for lesser players.

When actually that is why some of the best QBs are so good. They keep things simple and kill teams with simple proven route combos.

It's not only about if the QB can do it, but about maximizing what your players can do.  If you don't need to disguise routes or play fancy because your QB can fit the ball into crazy windows or is basically just able to read a defense as well as any OC possibly could it changes everything.

How does one disguise a route? The defense has no clue what route each WR/TE/RB will take before the snap especially if every formation looks the same.

You can disguise a play (pass / run) ie come out in a 1wr jumbo set and do a play action pass or come about in 4wr and run the draw.

Manning doesnt need to fit the ball into crazy windows most the time because he is making the right calls and reads before snap.

Obviously your qb needs to be able to read a defense and or your OC needs to be able to decipher what the D is running.

Then again they have to do that regardless. Might as well keep things simple and get good - great at one thing than try to master many things only to be great at nothing.

I think you are wildly underestimating what having Manning as a QB does for a team.  I also think that if you were correct, more teams would play the way you suggest.  But perhaps I'm wrong.

The Broncos play to their strengths.  Most teams try to do that.  For some teams, that involves more varied formations, because of the type of players they have.
