Whitlock on PTI

I disagree agree with lots of his junk but he made a comment today I have believed for years....

There is a difference between Brees and the other big 3 he gets lumped into. Brees is good for about 3 WTF are you thinking throws or gambles a game. He will turn the ball over.

Whitlock is right that nationally that gets swept under the rug and no one mentions.

For example since Newton has entered the NFL.....the relatively raw and gambling youngster only has 5 more turnovers compared to Brees who is at the peak/prime of his career.

People may claim Newton is doing better but overall is has been viewed as someone who hasn't taken care of the ball well?

Brees? No one talks about it.....and he isn't on par with Brady, Rodgers, Peyton in that regard.

not really fair to compare his turnovers to cams given the disparity in pass attempts between them

When you factor in the number of hits Cam has taken since entering the NFL....I think it is fair.

He has 335 rush attempts to even out the opportunities for turnover

I can't tell if this is serious

Yes.

Brees doesn't protect the ball as well as the group of QBs he automatically gets lumped into.....and no one ever mentions that.

To beat him....you need to capitalize on that IMO.

He brings the same deadly passing threat....but has more hiccups than the other elite guys

I read something today that I couldn't believe and don't know if true, but unbelievable if true-no QB under 6' has been drafted in the first two rounds in over 60 years. Brees is BARELY considered 6', Wilson is under 6' by a good bit. Doesn't guarantee anything but a shocking stat about the difficulties of a "short" QB and the odds of them succeeding long term.
