Panthers at Miami/Atlanta

RoaringRiot

Recommended Posts

Fellow Huddlers - the Roaring Riot did our part while we were down in Miami and came out with an overall positive record.  We tried to take on South Beach and the Clevelander, and although we put forth a valiant effort, that place never stops and is as about as tough as Vegas to defeat.  I hate to admit it....the beach won that battle.  We did, however, do our part to will us to a victory.  This is evident by the Kraken giving us a "thumbs up" because we were cheering so loudly.  We also made a ridiculous amount of noise on our way out of the stadium, successfully pissing off most of the Dolphins "fans" who actually do care about their team.....which collectively was less than the amount of people we had in our group.  Score: 2-1 Riot for the weekend.

Thanks to Zod, Brit-Panther, and usmcpanthers for joining us.  It was good hanging out with you guys and I look forward to more games and trips with you all.  Also thanks to Zod for the pictures he snapped of us.  I've attached one he took from the field because I'm too dumb to know how to embed it.

Which brings me to ATL.  We're about four weeks out from week 17.  It's looking like it's actually going to be a meaningful game - which could be good or bad news since we haven't won there in at least 5 years.  However, this is definitely the best chance we've had to win there and this team will be the one to finally get that monkey off our backs.  I can't wait to be there for that.

The Roaring Riot will be heading down to ATL again for the trip.  This will be our 6th year down there.  It's always an awesome trip.  We've got about 8-10 more spots left and I wanted to RE-invite any of you who are interested in hopping on the bandwagon, I mean bus, and dominating ATL with us.

The details for the trip are HERE.  Hope to have some of you join us.  I've got until 12/6 to finalize everything so there isn't a whole lot of time to decide.

Also....I know there are a few of you who live in ATL already.  It would be cool to talk about meeting up with you guys either on Saturday or for the tailgate on Sunday.

Go Panthers!

What's the deal with the kid with the Panthers hat and Jets jersey? That's incredibly random.

Way to hold it down guys!

I have no idea but that kid in the Zach Thomas jersey turned around to us after every play and talked poo.....like, the kind of poo that only adults should talk.  I've never wanted to beat the crap out of a 12 year old so badly in my life.

I've already made my travel plans but was wondering how to maybe tailgate with you all?

We have to park in the Marshalling Yard because of our bus.  Cars are allowed in there, too, though.  We leave the hotel at 9:00am sharp....so we're at the lot by 9:30am at the latest.  You won't be able to miss us.  We'll be the only 50-60 people wearing Panthers colors.

Is everyone responsible for their own ticket or do you have a set number close together?

I've got 60 tickets all together in the upper deck, close to midfield.   Tickets are included in the trip package.

Personally, I don't think there is much that beats sitting with a ton of Panthers fans for away games.  We're loud, fairly obnoxious, and there's a bunch of us.

I'll make sure to take a bunch of videos this year for you all.  The look of the Falcons fans when they hear all of us yell "AND THAT'S ANOTHER PANTHERS' FIRST DOWN.....WHOOOOOOO" is pretty fugging priceless.

    • Interestingly I think we have kind of of gone through this as an organization. Richardson implemented an FO driven tank. Bad roster, no cash spent, coach uninterested. It may have been for different reasons but I think the results were the same. A team that wasn't going to win many if any games. We ended up with the #1 pick. Cam Newton came in and changed the franchise. It worked, but Cam himself pointed to the losing culture in the locker room needing to be changed. It probably took about 2-3 years for that to happen. Tank worked pretty damn well for us. Cam is one of one. Not another like him, everyone can't deliver on his draft status AND change a culture basically on his own.  So as an exercise here are the last 30 #1 picks. If you tanked and got to pick #1 how many of these guys do you think were worth it? Not just good players, but franchise changers. Guys who will take your culture and shift it so the tank was actually worth it. I would say maybe 9 or 10 guys would be worth a tank, pending the last 5 picks?    2025: Cam Ward (Miami (FL)) - Tennessee Titans 2024: Caleb Williams (USC) – Chicago Bears 2023: Bryce Young (Alabama) – Carolina Panthers 2022: Travon Walker (Georgia) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2021: Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2020: Joe Burrow (LSU) – Cincinnati Bengals 2019: Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) – Arizona Cardinals 2018: Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) – Cleveland Browns 2017: Myles Garrett (Texas A&M) – Cleveland Browns 2016: Jared Goff (California) – Los Angeles Rams 2015: Jameis Winston (Florida State) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2014: Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) – Houston Texans 2013: Eric Fisher (Central Michigan) – Kansas City Chiefs 2012: Andrew Luck (Stanford) – Indianapolis Colts 2011: Cam Newton (Auburn) – Carolina Panthers 2010: Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) – St. Louis Rams 2009: Matthew Stafford (Georgia) – Detroit Lions 2008: Jake Long (Michigan) – Miami Dolphins 2007: JaMarcus Russell (LSU) – Oakland Raiders 2006: Mario Williams (North Carolina State) – Houston Texans 2005: Alex Smith (Utah) – San Francisco 49ers 2004: Eli Manning (Mississippi) – San Diego Chargers 2003: Carson Palmer (USC) – Cincinnati Bengals 2002: David Carr (Fresno State) – Houston Texans 2001: Michael Vick (Virginia Tech) – Atlanta Falcons 2000: Courtney Brown (Penn State) – Cleveland Browns 1999: Tim Couch (Kentucky) – Cleveland Browns 1998: Peyton Manning (Tennessee) – Indianapolis Colts 1997: Orlando Pace (Ohio State) – St. Louis Rams 1996: Keyshawn Johnson (USC) – New York Jets 1995: Ki-Jana Carter (Penn State) – Cincinnati Bengals
