We Should Have Drafted This Receiver

nothing worse than the guy 9 months later telling everyone we shoulda drafted such and such.  where was this incredible proclamation the day after the draft?  and another pesky question, why can't the panthers just draft anyone they want and leave the rest for the other 31 teams to fight over?

He's missed 10 games in 5 seasons...and I think this is the first year that Stewart has missed more than 1 game, so no. People get hurt, it happens. Thomas Davis has missed 3 seasons.

Big physical receiver that is absolutely worthless in the red zone? BACK UP A DUMP TRUCK FULL OF MONEY, DAVE!!!!

You're right. We should just stick with the guys we have, and maybe pick up a few guys off someone's practice squad, or a few uda's.

U guys are Ridiculous we have one of the best Defenses in the league due to drafting 2 tackles that will be with us for yrs to come & allowed us to get by with a not so good secondary. We all know we need WRs it just wasn't as important as DT. Edwards is old, Cole will be gone better to upgrade it while u have Luke young & fresh. If we can't protect Cam 1st how will the WR get the ball?? Meaning OLine is the next biggest need. Cam been hit more then any other QB. Think about that for posting the same dumb thread. We all know we need WR help theirs just bigger needs. Not always about the flashy pick!

Please stop making threads like this. Gettleman knows how to build winning teams. It starts with building up the trenches. Once you do that, then you can get your play makers. He addressed a position that was our weakest. Even worse than receiver. I guess it would have been fun seeing Fua get a lot of playing time at DT again though. I wouldn't be surprised if this next draft he double dips at oline. Then maybe the following year he will double dip at WR and give us 2 awesome young targets. Personally I love having Star and KK. Our D is young and will be nasty for a long time. I'll leave the decision making up to Gettleman. I trust him. He has already given us probably our best draft class ever in his first year.

I agree about the fact we shouldn't cry over players we didn't select, a lot of things happen in drafts and this past draft was about as good as it comes for us aside from Kug, who could still become a decent player with an offseason regiment, but we're talking about reaches.  Our rookies include Star, KK, Klein, Melvin White, and Robert Lester.  The last 2 weren't drafted, but they came in with this class.  With that said, I like the idea of double dipping at Oline, but we have to have a contingency plan to get a WR through free agency or something because this WR group will not cut it long term.  Smitty is definitely showing his age, Ginn has trouble creating separation, and Lafell is a possession receiver who sometimes struggles with dropping the ball in big moments.  My belief is that 1 of those picks needs to be Oline and the other needs to be WR.

Are you a mod? Then I suggest you don't tell someone what to make a thread about. You have to be one insecure individual in your thoughts to make a thread because you disagree with someone else's thoughts. You didn't have to read it. Ignore it and move on.

Didn't you do just this by writing this message?

    • And really, it should be 4 reasons with the last one being that there were ZERO other offensive weapons on that team in 2024, opposing defenses only had to worry about one player all year long and they constantly double and triple teamed him right off the snap all season.  In 2023, we still had Jacob Cowing who had 90 catches that year and was drafted by the 49ers last year, so teams couldn't just send everyone after T-Mac on every passing down.
    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
