Call to Arms

Just a curious thought. Let's say the Panthers organization mounted 4 huge jumbo tron screens on each outside wall of the stadium and invited the general public to come party and watch the game from the outside. If they could get as many people to attend outside as did inside, could the outside noise impact anything inside or would none of the noise carry over?

I have noticed that the Panthers as an organization have been pushing for a loud crowd every way they can. Players have called for it, coaches have called for it, its all over the social media accounts.

Mildly impressive, actually.

Now if the announcer wouldn't have to promote so many things to "advertise" and make more money.... and would talk to pump up the crowd... or just play pumped up music and shut up, that'd be SO much better... but still use the screens to prompt people.

but that's a dream... LOL

There's no way that the noise from a crowd watching the game at ground level is going to get over the stadium and back into the bowl... the only way you'd hear them is the noise that made it through the concourse and into the seating area from the section entrances. At that point, you're talking about drops in a bucket.

Now, all of that being said... it would create a fantastic atmosphere around game days. More folks tailgating, and the excitement wouldn't just be contained in the stadium. I'm afraid it would backfire, though... I mean, if folks aren't showing up until midway through the first quarter as it is, how long do you think it'll take them to make it into the stadium if they can watch the game on their way in... or even worse... from their tailgating spot?

Sorry for another thread about crowd noise but it is that important.  In anticipation of the big game, I have been trolling Panthers stuff more than usual this week.  Here's a summary of what I have seen / heard over the last 5 days.

1.  Riverboat issued a Call to Arms for Panther fans at BOA this Sunday.  He understands and emphasized the importance of crowd noise.

2.  Gross asked fans to skip work or do whatever is necessary to save their voices for Sunday.

3.  Cam and Gross mentioned home field advantage and crowd noise several times during interviews this week.  Gross said BOA has been great the last couple weeks and fans are rallying around the team.  Cam said BOA is one of the best places to play and fans are really behind the team.

4.  Yesterday, analysts on NFLN said the Saints O-line is their Achilles heel.  Primary reason for their poor road record is the o-line cannot anticipate the snap count in loud environments and the brief hesitation gives the D-line an advantage.

5.  Brees said they have several playmakers (receivers primarily) and are difficult to defend when they establish their rhythm.

This game will be discussed on all sports-talk shows next week.  I am tired of hearing about the 12th man in Seattle.  For all of us going to the game, get to your seats before kickoff and lets rock for all 60 minutes.  Don't wait until 3rd down and from the first series, make it hard for Brees to audible at the line of scrimmage and for their offense to get in a groove.  In addition, lets make our silence on offense just as deafening.

Lets establish BOA as a hostile environment and do our part this weekend!

Hear Yee!!! Hear Yee!!!  Lets go hog wild crazy and bring the noise for this all important Saints game.

I don't think the noise per se would carry over, but the energy definitely would. The Thunder did that here during the playoffs. There was literally as many people outside in the streets as there were in the sold-out arena watching the game. It was unreal. The air was electrifying.

Of course, until some stupid twit had to act a fool and ruin it for everyone. Now its a safety hazard...blah, blah, blah.

I have been to 4 home games this year and most big games in our history to include all playoff games and the Bucs MNF game 08. My mind and body ache I want to be in BOA tomorrow so bad to bring the noise and pain. My father, brother, and uncle will be there and I have issued the same challenge. To all that will be there, be EXTRA loud for those that can't be there!!!!!!!

It being the night before the most important game of the past 5 years, its fugin dead in this place.

I have seen more action on a monday night in july.

Not much more to say, just ready to get it on IMO. I saw a lot of Panthers gear in Harris Teeter earlier, much more than a Monday in July. Hopefully everyone is resting their voice for those of us that can't be there.
