Lilsmitty's Season Ending Highlight Video

This year there were a bunch of highlights (thank god) so I split the season highlight that I usually do in one video into two...some of you may remember the one from a couple months ago, my "mid-season" highlight. I'll post that one below. But here is my "Second-Half" highlight video. PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK. Also, next week be on lookout for a playoff promo! KEEP POUNDING!

good effort and all but please dont take my criticism the wrong way

- the entire video needs more depth. putting highlights together with a background music is very vanilla nowadays.

To me, this is what would look good:

-it must have an intro with very quick flashy highlights, with very upbeat music (even some nice dub/trap step) to suck the viewer in the video, sync the climax of each highlight with the beat or the drop. (must blend all three sides of the ball)

*music fades away

-A short clip of one of the players should be the transition to the body of the video (i like Mitchell's "you gotta play us" clip, it speaks heart)

-In the body, i would start with clips of our bad start of the season. Int's, incompletions, cam sacks, player frustration etc (with somewhat of a dramatic melody)... then the keep pounding clip of TD (cue nice percussion beat with a fast bassline) , players never give up clips, Cam starts scrambling clips, multiple glimpses of a lot of catches, clips of greg hardy eyeing the qb, clips of kuechly eyeing the qb .... At this point i would break down the clips in categories of sacks, defense ints, offense passing tds and running tds and play them categorized. Then, clips with the roar and the excitement of players... (ie smiths seizures after catch etc..)

-For conclusion, slowmo clips of game winning tds that fade through black as the music ends, followed by 2013 NFCS Champions, and WE ARE NOT DONE YET. end clip.

something like that.

Very well done..............advise from one who produced such video's professionally for years in sports.

Don't add any music with vocals......it is a drawback to the game call which is far more interesting than any music track.

Keep the music track to a minimum and leave it to an instrumental. The music should not bring any attention to itself but only add an ambience to the effect.

Great job on the editing and leaving the play calling in!

I know its so easy to make that happen.  Hey right quick go make us one and we can enjoy it together.  I'll wait right here.

In all seriousness OP good job dude!  I graduated form broadcasting school and video editing was a bear for me.  I can do it im just better with audio instead.  I truly admire people with the eye for video cuts.  I saw no structural defects in the video.  Well done, my man, well done.

i feel if you haven't made a vid before- all you need to say is "Thanks for the 8 minutes of entertainment" then be on your way..

if you have made a vid and understand the time it takes, then you can give some small criticism because these aren't paid employees- these are fans that do this on their down time for other fans..

appreciate it and say thank you for the 2-4+ hours it took to compile the video footage from NFL.com (and watching the countless ads pop up) or their DVRs, then cut and splice the clips and then use their creative mind to pick and choose how they intertwine..

i know he asked for feedback but LilSmitty has probably been the most consistent vid maker on here. I - for one - appreciate him, because I know the time it takes. So I wouldn't ever pick his sh*t apart and say- i woulda done 'this' or 'that'..

In no way shape or form I demanded the OP to make another video and my post was not a request, although it may have transpire as such. As stated, I described what I would call a top notch panthers highlights video. IMO

Having a background in video editing and I know how much effort is put into short videos.

There are several members here who put a lot of effort into making Panthers Highlight Reels. Thats what i am saying.

If the content of the video is the taste of a good dish, it must look appetizing for you to eat it!

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
