First QB to go in the draft?

I think Manziel will go first. Nothing will bring more excitement to Houston than good ol' Johnny Football. I think Bridgewater is decent, but I'm going to pull out the good ol' conferences argument. SEC > American. Add in the fact that Manziel is the better dual-threat, Houston will take him first.

I think Hundley is solid as well. Carr, not too sure. He was awful against USC, which was probably the first "real" defense he played against all season.

I would hate to be picking a QB this year in the draft.

Take Manziel for instance, The TTBOW had set the NCAA record for yds at 4100 only to have it broken by Cam at 4300.  Then here comes Manziel and has a 4800 yd season followed by a 5100 yd season.  He has elusiveness, but is small, has a decent passing game and has nice touch and vision.  He does not necessarily have a rocket arm, but the most worrisome thing about him is between his ears.  He might grow up or he might flame out.  I don't like his maturity, of course I am 53 and don't like any players maturity for the most part, joking.

He is surely a showboat kind of guy and would just worry me if I had to coach him.  I think Hundley is a year away, but might be better than any of them long term.  If he stays in school, I think he is number one pick next season barring injury.  But like I said, I would hate to be in need of a qb this season.  I hope whomever the Browns signs, sucks.  Have little respect for their brass after their treatment of Chud, I mean, who do they think they are, Jerry Jones?

    • Question to the posters on this thread because you are knowledgeable--I love watching and pull for the Canes, but I never played so I don't have the understanding I had when I played football then watched it.  Having said that, Do you think we are weak at Center?  I see the team to be pretty strong on the wings, promising defense, and weak at Goalie.  It would be ideal if the Canes had 1 more position to upgrade, not 2.  I don't think you can count on Anderson to play a full season and he is 35.  However, are we solid at Center in your view?
    • Couldn't agree more, Kooch is erratic and Freddy is fragile, maybe save the remaining cap space for a goalie stud at the deadline
    • There is one play that sold me-- it was around 2:38, I think.  It was 4th and 1 and the QB telegraphed and threw the ball out wide to TMac.  He had no blocking (the TE was very late) and four defenders collapsed on TMac behind the LOS. They seemed to know it was coming.  He got hit behind the LOS and battled through several hits to get three yards.  THAT play showed me his fire.
