Mind Blowing Stats For Divisional Round

Recommended Posts

The 12.0 points allowed at home thing is impressive, but here's a stat from another article on there that I would actually term "mind blowing":

There were nine NFL defensive backs who registered at least three sacks this season. Three of those backs play for the Panthers (Munnerlyn, Mikell, Mitchell)

EDIT: Actually, that looks like a typo. There were only six defensive backs officially credited with at least three full sacks, and three of those play for Carolina. The other three are only credited with 2.5

Since 1980 only 4 teams have been home underdogs in the playoffs, of those, none of them have lost including the last being the 1996 panthers over the Dallas Cowboys.

Time to run that streak to 5 in a row.

Pretty sure the 49ers were favorites on the road last week at GB and won.

    • This isn't directed at CRA or anyone in particular, but as someone who works with large datasets every day, it's funny how you can construe data to fit any particular narrative.  I mean this is just a hilarious tweet, a stat nobody has ever heard of, then some percentages with QB name. No numerator/denominator to provide context, no explanation of the formula, just another stathead loser with a mustache parroting whatever he wants.  So much of this stuff is worthless, especially in a sport like Football.
    • 3rd straight openers of horrific football featuring Bryce.   and if the games weren't dated....I bet someone unfamiliar with Bryce/us  couldn't figure out which one was his rookie season just off the 3 openers.
    • I've watched everybody that says TLaw outplay Bryce also completely ignore Nijman giving up immediate pressures and mistakes by other players on the offense. I have no attachment to Bryce. My attachment is to facts, and the facts are that he dealt with more than TLaw did. As a fellow Clemson fan, I've got a much softer spot in my heart for TLaw and the NCG he won his freshman year than I do Bryce and his rough two seasons to start his career in Carolina.  Have you gone back and watched the all-22 with the intent to figure out what was happening rather than sticking with your initial assessment? Give it a shot. It's much more rewarding than making up conspiracies to continue an agenda.
