NFL.com lists the best playoff quarterbacks...

And surprise surprise, everyone is riding Kaepernick. To save you the trouble of reading it:
*Dave Dameshek and Dan Hanzus earn gold medals in stupidity for listing him as the second-best playoff quarterback behind Tom Brady.

*The only person to have Cam above Kaepernick (or to even have a remotely reasonable list, for that matter) was Gregg Rosenthal, who put Newton (No. 7) ahead of Kaepernick (No. 8). Only one other writer (Marc Sessler) has Cam not being the worst.

Also, for those who think the media just hates Cam, not the Panthers - in a list of backup quarterbacks, Derek Anderson (a former Pro-Bowler) is listed behind Matt Hasselbeck (the only other Pro Bowler, so fair enough), Ryan Mallet, Tarvaris Jackson, Luke McCown, Colt McCoy, Brock Osweiler, and Charlie Whitehurst.

I can't wait to see us smack the Niners down on Sunday.

Cam is playing in his first ever playoff game this weekend, why would anyone think these "analysts" would have him ranked high? The sooner people stop flocking to post about these morons, the better off the huddle will be. Threads about Dameshek, and Schein should be banned.

The term "experience" is being overblown in regards to this game.

Kaep started 8 regular season games and lead his team to a Super Bowl, experience means very little in this case, and people are really sleeping on Cam and this football team. It's beyond strange.

I hope the Panthers at least win this game. I feel a lot of analysts are waiting for them to lose so they can discredit their 12-4 season. Similar to when we lost against the Saints on SNF and there were multiple articles claiming that Newton or the Panthers are just not ready yet, even though we beat the Patriots and 49ers.

I agree. I think it's nearly irrelevant. TD and Kalil have been to playoffs. Smith and Gross played in a Super Bowl. Cam won a national championship. These guys are professionals and are used to the big stage. It's just an excuse to not pick the Panthers.

BTW, the Andrew Luck hype is crazy. 4 Career TDs to 5 TOs in 2 playoff games and you're already being projected to be an all-time great? If the Colts win tomorrow, I definitely won't be watching ESPN, Fox Sports, NBC Sports, NFL Network, etc. for a week.

I usually don't mind watching NFL AM, or sportscenter, but this week has been unbearable with their unwarranted lust for Kaepernick and the 9ers.  Apparently, Kaepernick is infinitely better than Cam, and their Defense is infinitely better than the Panthers D, and we beat them early in the year only because their omnipresent team decided to show mercy to us and take a weekend off.  Gimme a Break, Panthers 28, Fairies 13

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
