We know what Bell is. A try hard guy that gets dominated by superior athletes. We know this. The coaching staff needs to scheme with that in mind. If they don't that is a far bigger gaffe then Bell playing as he always does.

Gonna be hard to scheme because if Bell can't block on on one and we shift protection towards him(keep a back or TE in) that leaves most likely a 1 v 1 of Aldon v Gross. Tough matchup nonetheless.

We need Bell to be able to at least slow down their rush 1v1.(not counting 3rd and long)

Aldon usually rushes from the other side. But if Chandler and Bell don't understand what the 49ers are trying to do then we will be fugged.

 

People love to talk about that being Aldon Smith's first game back. That was Nate Chandler's first game ever. Hopefully Nate has some confidence going into this one.

Don't want to see Olsen trying to pass block unless it is to set up a screen. He had a tough day last time trying to block.

Hartsock also had a tough day pass blocking. Need him to step up too.

Well yeah I don't want to get in X and Os because I can't even think on an NFL coaches level. But you see teams scheme Clowney in college, you saw the Patriots scheme us with the quick passing game. You can tell Cam he has three seconds and run(or throw away). Or you can run the fug out of the ball and beat the hell out of them. Also our oline can hear the cadence this time around.

I agree he is our weakest link. Him or Chandler. But when the chips are down you look for your stars to take over a game. Not the marginal athlete. When I solve a problem at work I need some constant variables. Bell is a constant, you design your game plan with the expectation he cannot win one on one.

in addition, Cam must keep that ball down. The height throws can't happen in the playoffs

True. However, our only real slot WR is Smitty and Tolbert can be good in the short game. If we can get the run game going, the short passing game will be huge. Will also help set up our PA passing game which Cam and the offense excels at and go deep.

if im not mistaken, Aldon normally lines up over the LT.now he does move around, but he mostly over on the left side. but Brooks is no slouch either, Bell will have to play well tomorrow.

There are ways to account for a subpar blocker in your scheme.

I can promise you this if Bell is the starter for this team again next year we are already putting our self out of superbowl contention. Same for the WR position. This defense is not gonna keep caring this team, history says it just wont happen.
