Game comes down to one man....IMO

Byron Bell. Simple and plain. Bell has to have a decent game. If he doesn't.....Cam can't. Very tough job for him Sunday.

Our O will be put on Cam shoulders....Bell IMO is the key to Cam having a shot. He doesn't have to be perfect but he has got to be good.

Cam needs to be extra extra aware of Bell's tough assignment with Aldon

Reality is everyone has to play well and comes down to everyone but Bell will be a HUGE key of what happens

I think you are right.  Bell has been bad and then alright,  We'll pray for alright.

And of course, have the extra box of Wheaties waiting for him on Sunday morning.  He is gonna need it.

Bell against the Bills was just shocking. I've never seen an NFL OT quit like that. He wasn't using any technique at all, and then I think he said something to the media about thinking that he played well. I later heard a rumor or something that he apologized to Rivera for his performance. Whatever the case, the RG and RT spots are the place to watch on passing downs. Chandler has trouble holding his ground against big DTs and gets pushed too far into the pocket a lot, just like Williams, but worse. We should try to draw the 9ers off sides, and mix in our double screen, one of my favorite plays this season. Also I'm expecting several designed QB runs, and Cam is going to scramble a lot more than normal imo.

Bell will have to step up, no doubt, but I think the needle being tipped is based on a few guys...

Cam needs to be comfortable and do his thing. Let him run when he wants to and be a kid. Gotta keep the LBs honest and keep the safeties wondering.

A WR not named Smitty needs to step up big time. I don't care if it's Ginn, LaFell, or Hixon. With Smitty only 89% that means the 9ers will focus more on Olsen, IMO and that has been Cams blanket to check down to. Cam has a habit of staring down receivers when Smith is covered and I don't want to see Willis, Bowman, and Reid going the other way with a pick.

Carolina RBs. When they're on, it eases pressure and they haven't been a full stable of the big 3 back there in a minute. Smash n Dash to help set Cam up for success and the Tugboat to pound them into submission. We need our backfield to do its job and create opportunities.

I disagree (nicely) - I think it boils down to how well Cam plays

he really needs to bring it tomorrow - the D most always shows up - our offense needs to bring it home - and he's the leader of the offense

I disagree- I think it boils down to how well Shula calls a game. If we are trying to pass down field all day and not mixing it up we will lose big. Shula need to call some playoff caliber games for us to win and needs to hide our weaknesses while doing that.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
