2014 NFL MOCK OFF-SEASON: CAROLINA-CHUCK

Like the draft. No way can/will we sign Hardy, Nicks and Tillman tho. Have to think about the future as well. NFL doesn't end after next season, and we have a young core, so it's not like our window is closing, it just opened/opening.

Didn't see if this has been mentioned or not, but cutting Williams wouldn't save us any money, it'd create another 3.6 mil in dead money according to what I'm seeing on spotrac.

4.6 million cap hit if you do it non June 1. If you do it as a June 1 it's 2 million. In other words, cutting DeAngelo is pretty dumb and won't be happening. Also having trouble finding all these restructures on the roster. There's only a small handful of guys whose contracts are in a position to restructure (mainly CJ)....

If 89 was another receiver, he wouldnt have a job right now. But, bc he's Steve Smith and what he have done for this franchise are the only reasons why he still have his job. He doesnt impact the game anymore. Hes a better trash talker than wide reciever now. Steve Smith is my all time favorite and the absolute reason why I fell in love with this team. Steve Smith is not even half the receiver he once was in 2013. I'd be surprised if 89 catches for 600 yards in 2014.

And being 5'8 and runs a 4.55 is the "reason" why hes going to play FS in the next level. You dont play a 5'8" at corner except here in Carolina with Captain. I tend to believe that you havent seen or know much of Joyner yet. The kid is seen by many as a safety in the pro. And, he plays like one. Safeties are getting smaller by the day and corners are getting bigger by the sec.

Of course he impacts the game just not as often.he is not on the team as a charity case and he is still the best WR on the team. So upgrade around him.  I think he has 2-3 more years left if we can get him some help. Move him to the slot, upgrade on the outside and watch this has been's rebirth.I don't think it is wise to doubt Steve Smith.

Lee is in no way shape or form gonna be on board at 28. Unless he was injured or something and I didnt hear about it.

Nothing is guaranteed. Most mocks has Lee in the early 20s. He could very well be there at 28 if teams go in other direction.

Woods, Hunter, etc. in the past were all projected as high prospects. They all fell down the draft. Im not saying Lee will fall but seen it happened too many times.

If we re-sign Ginn, why would we draft Lee? Pretty much the same guy without speed, our offense struggled without a threat at the #2 spot. I understand the concern with Smith's age, but when we go 3 wideouts, I would prefer at least 1 to be over 6' tall. Keep Pounding!!

Charles Tillman has already said that he's going to retire a Bear, and he if doesn't, he would probably go to Tampa before he came here.

But he never said that he couldnt play for another team and still retire a Bear.

Tampa is playing a lot of money to Revis and spent a 2nd rounder on Banks. As much sense as it make for Tillman to land in Tampa (Lovie) I just cant see it.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
