Jonathan Martin

According to text messages obtained by Fox News, Martin allegedly threatened to send someone to Incognito's home to sodomize him with "sandpaper condoms." Martin’s spokeswoman, Ann Marchant, told Fox News that NFL investigators have "the entire series of texts and it's more accurate to look at all of them." She added that "to the extent Martin had made crude comments to Incognito, it was in the context of trying 'to be a friend to Richie and to fit in' with the team." She also said that Incognito sent emails to Martin in which he discussed "gang raping (Martin's) mother and sister. They are very vile."
Incognito's attorney Mark Schamel said that "Jonathan Martin sent text messages to Richie Incognito which included threats to send someone over to Richie Incognito's home with a 'tranquilizer gun and sandpaper condoms' to homosexually rape him. There was another where Jonathan Martin indicated he would ejaculate in Richie’s face."

Guys talking about rape and sodomy and a spokeswoman comments on it. When political correcteness is enforced in private communications you know big brother is watching.

That said, two dudes trash talking eachother when one perceives the other to be "soft" is nothing new and a complete breakdown over what Martins real issue is. That he's not at a dinner with 3 piece suites in a strip club with a $2,000 bottle of champagne every night. I personally think he could be a creep.

It's been discussed before, but with word coming out now that he won't be back with the Dolphins, I think it deserves to be discussed again.  Would you want him here?  I say heck yes.  He was the #42 pick less than two years ago and is no dummy, going to Stanford and with Harvard educated parents.  I also think at 24 he should have something to prove with great upside after the whole ordeal and it would be like getting another 2nd round pick for what should be a great deal.  With Martin, Nicks, and maybe Tillman (or similar combo) in FA, GMan could truly feel like Scarface when he saw "The World Is Yours" going into the draft.

Nope he struggled when he played and was average at best............where trying to improve the offense from "average to elite " not stay at the status quo.

Texts were released between Martin and Incognito where they were BOTH insulting each other and making rude remarks, so when Martin told everyone he was offended by things that were said in the locker-room he was probably lying. Someone should ask the players if they would want a guy in their locker-room who has done what Martin has done, would like to hear their replies.

As much as I hate to hear people blaming Martin in the Cognito incident, I agree that his play has been subpar and he would be a gamble at best.

However, I have played on 2 college teams where older players decided to haze a particular freshman because they do not like him or he screwed up in a game. It can be brutal, and that was nothing compared to what I read. One victim was a good friend of mine and I felt his pain.  If you feel that you do not belong on the team-whether it be social or athletically, it is difficult to focus on excelling.  It rips your confidence to shreds. He wanted to leave school, but some of us talked him out of it.  I secretlly went to the coach about it and it stopped immediately.  I was so disgusted by it, I did not want to play on the team and it was not even happening to me.

When I read that people are calling Martin weak for not taking it like a man, I chuckle at your stupidity.  I only wish you could spend a year or two in a similar situation.  Maybe he was weak and susceptible to bullying.  Maybe he expected to be treated like a professional.

And maybe the course of action he took to resolve this was more courageous than anything else he could have done because there are millions of turds in the world who think the best way to get self-esteem is to break down someone else's. Now he has to deal with outsiders who do not know him or the details of the situation calling him out.

Martin has a past that puts everything he's been through MUCH more into perspective. There's a reason why hes constantly surrounded with allegations and very weird/particular types of drama. I am very familiar with a few coaches and admin members of his past teams over the years, none of which had one positive thing to say about him or his up bringing, in regards to attitude/motivation.

This should all be made public in due time. Theres zero reason to believe he will ever amount to anything.

Did not know things would start to leak out just a week after i said it, but stay tuned folks, theres much MUCH more

    • I gave you a full breakdown and examples from last year as to why I think it's unfair to expect 1k from T-Mac this year if everyone stays healthy. But the TLDR version is we will have 4 legitimately good WRs next year, most rookies who get to 1,000 yards don't have any others on the team with them let alone 3 others, it will be hard for him to put up 1k with out the others being injured or falling short of expectations themselves, but in 2026 without Thielen it's different.
    • Ulcerative Colitis is not CTE.
    • Last year Thielen had 615 yards in 10 games (had more ypg than his 1k season in 23).  XL had 497 in 16 games with tons of drops and Coker had 478 in 11. They also only had only 192 of our 518 targets to get those numbers. So if Thielen has 1,000 yards again, XL and Coker each improve to say 600 yards each, and T-Mac comes in at 800 yards, you're going to say that's not good enough?  Especially if he ends up with close to, if not getting to, double digit TD's like I think he will, as he's going to be a red zone monster for Bryce? Because if that's the breakdown of just the Top 4 and Bryce plays all 17 games, he's going to be pushing a 4,000 yard season as the TEs, RBs, and other WRs will probably add up to 750-1k yards as well, and I think that would be far more than anyone here could be expecting of him this season. Last year the Giants only had 2 players with more than 331 yards besides Nabers and they were 699 and 573 while Nabers "only" had 1,200 yards (granted in 15 games).  While the Jags second leading receiving was a TE with 411 yards and BTJ also "only" had 1,282 but in all 17 games. Odunze couldn't get there (734 in 17 games) with Moore and Allen there, just as McConkey was able to get there because his competition for targets was Quentin Johnson (711 yards), Josh Palmer (584), and Will Dissly (481) who I think Thielen, XL, and Coker are all better than any of them. If everyone stays healthy and XL/Coker have improved, I think Bryce is going to spread the ball around rather than focus on T-Mac in a way that most of the 1k rookies have been able to get. Again I point to MHJ and the Cardinals last year. They had 3,859 yards receiving.   McBride had 1,146, MHJ had 885, then their 3rd and 4th in rec yards were 548 and 414. Take the 146 and 85 that McBride/MHJ had over my example for our guys and give them to the other two and they get to 7 yards shy of the 600 I'm using for XL/Coker, while the rest of the team added up to 866 yards. So, if you expect T-Mac to get to 1k, where are you taking those yards from? if anything, XL and Coker each getting 600 yards seems like a low projection, so they wouldn't come from there. Maybe they come from Thielen now that we have T-Mac as the true #1.  But I think if anything, having T-Mac draw attention will just make it easier for Thielen to get open and him and Bryce have great chemistry already, he's not going to stop throwing his way if he can pick up easy chunks of yards there. So maybe they come from the RBs, TEs, other WRs, but it's I think a very fair example to show why expecting 1,000 yards if everyone stays healthy isn't necessarily fair to him. It's also why I said I'd then expect at least 1,200 yards in 2026, as once Thielen leave and all 3 of T-Mac/XL/Coker get better, they absorb that 1,000 yards Thielen leaves behind with T-Mac probably taking close to half of it and the other two splitting up the other half.
