Implied*

Jptaylor84 did the inferring.

'Rivera implied were gona resign him' whereas I and most fans probably thought he was gone for! Signing him tagging him whatever you do eats up most if not all the cap space we have available which isn't $28 million like some think it is! I'm opposed to that idea sorry it doesn't fall into line with what you think.

In response to letting Greg hardy walk away in FA.

"Sitting down with Dave Gettleman and talking with him about the direction we're gonna head and how we're gonna get things done, they're gonna work to get that taken care of, so I'm pretty excited about that. I like the fact that we're gonna have our guys as we go forward."

Ron Rivera

One concerning comment that Gettleman and Rivera mentioned is Gross is considering retirement. When ask how they would replace him he said we would start by looking on our roster. I bet that process will not take long.

Losing Gross would be huge. I think we all just assumed he still wanted to play but now I am not so sure.

I understand your concerns..  but Gettleman hasn't given me any reason to oppose his ideas or plans for this team.  So lets wait to see what else he does.

He has made it clear that they are being extremely thoughtful with every dollar, and you can tell based off of all his moves that he won't overpay or keep us "cap challenged" heading into the future.

I trust gettleman whereas Hurney by the end not at all. I do like hardy but if it signing him hurts other areas of need I'm not open to that our defence is set apart from the secondary we have three other DEs ok there not hardy but we have depth until we find a legit replacment for him, the offense has far to many holes to fill to put all our money into hardys pocket.

Just looking for cam to have some weapons and an offense that he doesnt have to carry, it is year four now.

I want that too.. trust me..but its only year 2 for Gettleman. And he is the one in charge of all of that.  He said it's all about sustained success, so he can't afford to look for instant gratification.

you don't think we can find that in the draft?

Who knows? The way I see it we need prob two two starting tackles if gross doesn't comeback, corners & safety positions if Godfrey is to be cut, doesn't leave open a lot of opportunity to go for two receivers like some on here are talking about, we have one vet WR who may or may not figure because of gettleman said, although it would be foolish to cut smitty, and two rookies in mcnutt & king, il make my mind up after FA because if cam gets lafell back again then the offense has basically not been adressed again which is unfair on cam.
