The Offensive Tackle Free Agent Market

Kevin Greene

Recommended Posts

Suddenly the Panthers have some huge shoes to fill with 69 retiring.

I would definately like to see this need at least partially addressed through free Agency which helps to set up the draft, Gettleman style.

Here's the market per Walter Football.

Eugene Monroe, OT, Ravens. Age: 27.

Jared Veldheer, OT, Raiders. Age: 27

Austin Howard, OT, Jets. Age: 27

Rodger Saffold, OT/G, Rams. Age: 26

Anthony Collins, OT, Bengals. Age: 28.

Michael Oher, OT, Ravens. Age: 28.

David Stewart, OT, Titans. Age: 32

Gets pretty thin after that.

Would like to see Saffold pursued for some depth if nothing else.

And concerning all of the needs we have. No team is perfect, not even the Seahawks. We are not going to fill all of our needs, players will get injured ect. We need to draft well, stay within budget and let our core players lift the rest of the team to an elite level.

I'm not going to panic even though right now out offense looks scary. This guy in charge knows what he is doing and will do everything to get this team where it needs to be without sacrificing our future. Gotta trust keek and cam to elevate this team and fill that leadership void.

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
