where can I listen to speakers?

Going to be building a house in the next year and am trying to piece together a nice little entertainment center.  Gonna buy a big-ass plasma tv, and I already have a good sub and receiver. I want to get some good bookshelf speakers for front speakers and another set for back (surround) speakers.

Would like to go to a place I can listen before I buy.  Is there anywhere in the Charlotte area like this? (Not the Bose store).

It's worthwhile to do this. Many years ago when I bought a pretty powerful stereo I had to pick out some surround sound speakers and listening to different ones caused me to buy Laser instead of Bose - sounded better to me and cost a third less. They are about 15 or so years old and are still my main surround speakers and sub.

Yea you do realize plasma's are prone to burning images right?

Do you know anyone who keeps still images visible on their plasma for hours and hours on end? If so, they might be at risk for burn-in of a modern plasma. Otherwise, it's no longer a concern for the average user.

Thanks SCP. I'm going to have to check them out soon and get some advice and listen to a bunch of stuff.  Got plenty of time but want to start making some decisions.

Gonna be a real family room--if it was a true man cave I'd go projector.  Plasma will be great for our needs and burn-in isn't an issue on the newer Plasmas especially.

    • He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful
    • Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here
    • AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
