Question for Steve haters

Yes.

I love Smitty--his fire, his attitude--it is very rare.  However, I see this as a smart move.  I suppose it depends on your heart vs. brain.

If we could pay Steve what he is worth everyone would be happy. Well, everyone but Steve I guess. Pay him #2WR money and things go back to normal. Unfortunately, that probably is not going to happen. Or it looks as if it is not going to happen. Who knows? Steve could tell Gman to write a contract that is Panther friendly. Or he may never play in a Panther uniform again.

I was hoping that he would not get a deal like he wants elsewhere, but we basically can't compete with a 1-year (even a 2-year) contract.

Word on the street says he will be a Raven.

I never have liked Smith's mouth, suckerpunches, etc.  That being said, he deserved better treatment from the team through this process, and he is the best WR we have, and the second best offensive player we have behind Cam.

Now players are 'retiring' left and right.  No, they see what a dumpster fire they were in and got the hell out.  Gettleman is just as big a tool as Hernia, only with a smug bastard attitude and accent.

Not sure what street you live on, but, Steve is still a Panther. At least for the moment.

NFL network, Faulk and Mooch, are baffled at how this is all playing out. They claim that Steve is the heart and soul of this Offense. Why would you let that guy go without having a viable option in place.

This is a mess. And it is being played out in a very public way. I guess we all have to wait and see how this plays out. If we don't get a trade done, do we keep him or let him walk? Fug, I hate this.

Why are you listening to those idiots on the networks? The only thing being played out in public is the crap the media poo stirrers are making up or exaggerating. Until the team announces wtf it plans to do stop freaking the fug out people! Sent from my Nexus 7 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

It's either that, or Leverage. With FA just getting warmed up, I am listening for news. I mean, how else am I to find out what is happening in the world if I don't watch NFL network, or ESPeeN?

This place is great for opinion and speculation. But for actual news, not so much.

But you need to remember......NFLN and ESPN are 5% news and 95% speculation, opinion, and conjecture.

But you are spewing the same crap they are perpetrating. The team hasn't said poo about anything and people are running around like their hair is on fire because some jackass assumed our GM was disrespecting our most celebrated player by daring to include him in a team evaluation.

It's news wrapped in entertainment. At my age, I take my entertainment serially.

Baltimore Sun was saying either Ravens or Bucs for Smitty.

However, it ain't over till its over.  I think they see the free agency market at WR and are trying to squeeze a sixth rounder for him--
