Don't forget about Ryne.

I just want people too remember Ryne Robinson. At the end of the 2007-2008 season he was not only making strides as a returner. He was doing well as the 3rd wr. Check me if I'm wrong but before he got hurt last year he was on his way too beating DJ and Jarret for the 3rd wr spot. So lets not forget him if he emerges we could have a nice 4 wr set. Put Goodson in he backfield we can have a 5 wr set kind of thing.

ryne did a good job when his number was called as a receiver - i could be wrong, but i don't remember any dropped balls on his part. he made a few catches for critical first downs in '07 (for all the good it did us, ultimately  )

My only concern would be that goodson would edge him out. and if he's good enough to do it, concern isn't the right word for it. :D

Have we ever had 5 guys who can all be weapons in the passing game like this before?

True...BUT, and that is a big but....Goodson, Robinson and Jarrett have yet to be shown as weapons on the NFL level. So we are back to the 2 WR sets we are used to. Not that that is a bad thing....

I cant remember the last time that the Panthers ran 5 wide? Can anyone else? I may be wrong, but I have watched just about every singe Panthers game ever, and since Fox became the coach I dont ever remember 5 WR's.

Yes I have. They have shown that the past two pre-seasons, but I do not recall ever seeing it in the regular season.

all that matters is what they can do in the reg season... This team has lived up on potential for years... I'm almost sick of the word.

I'm just ready to see how they produce on the field in the reg season.. Coaches putting in the scheme to utilize them and the players making the right reads, creating space and catching the ball...

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
