we'll have to cut Godfrey....we sign Nicks and our rookies, we still don't have enough OL and secondary players.

We need so many, even the ones who will only make 5 or 6k might put us over the cap.

We need to sign Hardy to a deal that pays him 8 to 10 mill this year, give us an extra 3 to 5 mil in cap space

Don't know if Andersin's re-signing has been added yet. But yeah, around 10 mil.

Might be enough to get Nicks if we want him and sign our draft picks. Not much more than that, though. Not unless we cut Godfrey

On PFT they are reporting we offered Nicks 4.5 per year and it sounds like he is still looking for a better deal.

I would have thought that hardy would have signed a long term deal which could free up some money.

On March 26th 2013 we re-did Gross' contract and our cap room was reported to be a 7 million after that move.

At that point we had signed or re-signed and their cap hits last year

Colin Cole-555k

Florence-620k

Derek Anderson-555k

Ben Harstock-620k

Tedd Ginn-1.1 Million

Mike Mitchell-725k

D.J Moore-555k

Captain-1.1 Million

^^^^^

Those moves accounted for 5.83 Million in cap space

We later signed

Dwan Edwards 1.6 Million 2013 cap hit

Chase Blackburn 1 Million cap hit

Domenik Hixon 1.2 Million cap hit

Wharton for a 1.1 Million cap hit

Quinten Mikell $620k cap hit

^^^^

That was another 5.52 Million

NFLPA says we have just over 8M free at this moment. i guess they havent taken into account Smith's contract yet. these are the numbers the league goes by

https://nflplayers.com/reports/public-salary-cap.htm

That's the same report where Reed and Person got their info from. They claim that number already includes Smiths savings of 2 million.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
