Ok, so I'm the GM and it's my job to put it together from here

Just for grins and hopefully to show it's not as bad as all that, I decided to mock up a draft using Fanspeak, and model out which FA's I'd pursue as of now to get things put back together:

28 WR JORDAN MATTHEWS
VANDERBILT

(Cooks was available, but I'm assuming the signing of Edelman or Sanders for their speed, and I wanted Matthews for his size...  Still, I was torn...  If I don't get Sanders or Edelman, I probably would have taken Cooks...)

60 OT MORGAN MOSES
VIRGINIA

92 OT JACK MEWHORT
OHIO STATE

124 S DION BAILEY
USC

156 CB PHILLIP GAINES
RICE

188 OLB PRINCE SHEMBO
NOTRE DAME

202 CB DONTAE JOHNSON
NORTH CAROLINA STATE

(with the pick it didn't give me that I got from NY for Beason I'm taking Kevin Norwood WR Alabama)

I'm also pushing to sign:

WRs (1, maybe 2 of the following)
Julian Edelman (want his return skills)
Emmanuel Sanders (want his speed)
Lance Moore (like his familiarity with the NFCS)
Lafell (would just as soon have him as the #3/4 as anyone else)

Miles Austin (I want to kick the tires, but interest is only so-so for now)

CB (1 of the following)
Drayton Florence (want his experience in the system)
Dominique Rogers Cromartie (probably too expensive)
Carlos Rogers

OL (Lots of good depth left, that should be affordable)
Eric Winston
Ryan Wendell
David Stewart

Also, I'm probably dropping Godfrey to save on the cap, so I'll have to pursue another Safety option...

Now granted this isn't the way it'll work out, but I hope it shows you that there's a good deal of time and talent left between now and the time games start to count...  Just let the dust settle, and you'll see a damn good defense, and the foundation of an offense coming together...

stuff

Neat to see you making draft posts again. Thanks. Just IMO, but Matthews seems early and Moses late, I thought Matthews was a mid-late second guy and Moses was expected to be early second who could creep into the first if there's a run at OT. I'd be pretty stoked regardless if it shook out like this.

Colston is available? I've been at work all day, did he get cut for space or something? If so sign that dude immediately.

Matthews would be a big reach at 28 I think. Good chance we can get him in 2nd round

No no, not Colston...  That's my bad...  It's Moore...  I brain cramped...  Will edit the OP...

Thoughts on Antonio Richardson? Seems like our guy based on name alone

A little concerned about his longterm durability, given his massive size, but there's not much to dislike about his game...  He could definitely bring an edge to the OL that we could use (especially paired with Silatolu)...
