My intent is not to prove you wrong. How do I benefit from that? We have different views thats all. You think Gettleman can work a miracle, I don't. Two players we simply couldn't afford to lose this offseason are gone.

I know what I saw Gettlemen do last year.  I know logic and common sense. I know the free agent market sucks and players are being overpaid--something that you do not seem to get.  I know that the people ripping Gettlemen for not going on a spending spree are missing some key pieces to the puzzle, like who to blame and how well this man finds talent in the bargain bin.  I am guessing you griped about the free agents last year at this time.   12 and 4.

And again, its not overspending if everyone is paying it. If every team in the league is "overpaying" does it matter? That's called market value and you can't be afraid to pay market value.

I agree that some serious holes need to be filled. But to freak out and claim gettleman is a dumbass is dumb in itself in march. There are plenty of opportunities to fill these holes between now and week 1.

The key is value.

1. We don't have the cap space to fill all of our holes spending market value. I believe g man can fill these holes just as well with the under estimated, value guys. We pay market value for 1 or two guys, and there, were done- ran out of cap space. Dave took bargain bin guys last year and turned them into decent contract guys.

2. We had 9 guys going at it for 5 spots in TRAINING CAMP. How many Months away is that?

I am actually pumped.  The unknown is much more inviting than what we had.  There are a lot of folks freaking out, but Gett will get it done.  He is simply waiting for the deals.

I don't think he's "dumb" I think he rubs people the wrong way, and tries to outsmart them into playing for less than they're  worth (see Nicks). I actually believe he has a plan, I just don' t think its working. I believe he wanted to sign Nick's, Ginn, and Lafell, and just failed to make it happen. Just because we don't see anyone being signed, doesn't mean he isn't trying and failing.

No, when we are forced to go the value route, he isn't gonna sign players for more than their value. Aside from smith (and this can be debated), we lost guys that signed elsewhere for more than what we valued them.

Instead of griping about what is happening, take a look at the cap, what the free agents are being paid, and tell everyone what you would do to send this team to the Super Bowl.

 

And please explain why you would pay last year's WRs $16 million to keep them on the roster--when all of them together could not get 2000 yards.   You realize that is pretty sad, don't you?

I think Hurney was too far left and Gettleman is too far right. Hurney was all about the present and Gettleman is all about the future. The thing is, if you don't take care of today there won't be a future to protect.
