Officially Moving to Colorado

So funny story: I was living in Virginia for school, moved to Wyoming, then Savannah (Charleston part-time), then to Charlotte, and now to DC...within the past 2 years.

Now I've only been in DC for a month in a good ole' corporate marketing position and got word from out west (in Denver) that I've been accepted into grad school for architecture.  Put my acceptance in the mail today.

Now I've stayed there a few times over the years in Wash Park and Highland which are sweet spots but still could know more about the area.  I'm just pumped and was looking for recommendations from any knowledgeable huddlers on the town.

i don't know poo about denver but i lived in colorado springs, woodland park, and the loveland/fort collins area as a kid and as a teenager during the 90's and early 2000s. granted you have a totally different perspective as an adult living there, but as a kid i fuging loved it.

Smoke some weed for us.

I also want to see what kind of buildings stoners will design.

haha

Apparently because of the legality deal, all types of schools have been flooded with applicants.

I've actually been on a break for the last ~2 months.

Going to Colorado in  July for 3 straight nights of red rocks concerts. Will be my first time in Colorado. So excited

Make it a road trip, do the Bourbon Trail on the way, and download "tvfoodmaps".

Boom!

Congrats on the acceptance, man.  I always had a passion for architecture and design, generally.  Never followed through with that; instead, I went to law school . . . .  Haha, it was all worth it, though, and I'm happy.  Hope it all works out for you.

my friend took an americorp in denver that paid like 900 bucks a month.  he had a spot a few blocks behind colfax ave (don't remember if it was east or west colfax, but it was in walking distance of the capitol building and many bars).  he ate a lot of rice and beans that year, but managed to live.  i rode with him down there when he moved.  we stayed at a hostel for a few nights before i flew back to okc.  he found a place to live within a week.  i could ask him for some advise if you'd like.

Sure why not. I'm considering buying a condo/loft/townhouse so any areas with an active night life + culture is cool by me.

What kind of nightlife? LoDo is where all the kids goto drink. But they do have 1 Up near the baseball stadium, if you're into older pinball and arcade games.

Your biggest problem is going to be choosing what local beer to have. I recommended anything Great Divide

well obviously, he knew he would only be there a year, so he wasn't looking to buy.  but at a minimum, i could ask about locations.

    • As the demand for apartments grows parking is becoming limited and it’s sad. I use to tailgate but I just park at uncc deck now and train in and head to rhino market. My tailgate grill hates me.
    • It simply depends on perspective. CMC, when healthy and on the field, has a higher YPC and YPR than LT. Yes, he's been injury prone, but this is simply a "all quarter-century team." There are certainly different stats and different lists. If this were a list or about a team simply based on longevity, then of course LT wins that every time, but some lists are more subjective and nuanced depending upon what they are, and it's not necessarily a reflection upon a person's ability to analyze sports.
    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
