Cotchery/Underwood > LaFell/Ginn

Its wishful thinking to call Underwood an upgrade over Ginn. He 's never had 450+ receiving yards in a season and doesn't return kicks or punts well.

440 and 425 isn't close enough? With constant improvement each year? Hate to break it to you but Ginn was deemed crap when we signed him last year

Based on athleticism and measurables I think this is true. If these guys can go out there and make catches where LaFell and Ginn had drops, it'll be settled.

I'm wanting to see how McNutt Balls...ahem...

Srsly though, Marvin is an x-factor that could make some noise when all this shakes out.

I like both signings, but we have no way of knowing this until the games are played. We still need a #1 caliber WR. Last year we also actually had a return game to speak of, we need to address that too, and no I am not referring to Barner. He isn't ready.

Not really, no. If he's better than Ginn he'd be playing better than him.

Did Ginn even return a kick last season when it mattered?

I can only speak for myself, but i think a lot of us are excited because this reminds me a lot of the Ginn signing last season. Both came in here, unproven. Ginn barely saw the field for two seasons before he revived his career. I just feel there is a lot of potential in this guy, and we got him for cheap. But those who are hesitant are correct. This guy hasn't proven he is better than Ginn, and may very well fade and not contribute.

I believe Gettleman sees something in this guy, and I trust his judgement. He has had success last year with these kind of acquisitions

    • Although, I will admit there is a big caveat to this game. Packers coming off an emotionally big game against Rodgers on the road in Primetime and a MNF matchup with the Eagles the following week, it is a prime opportunity for a let down game with them looking ahead. Which if it's the case, I think we still lose, but only something like 24-21.
    • We lose in a non competitive game 38-20. Bryce doesn't look much better than Dalton did and all the people this week saying "see we told you he's great, look how bad this team is without Bryce" blame it on the OL injuries and/or his ankle and already start laying the groundwork for that being why he is still one of the worst starting QB's the rest of the season and why he deserves another year, if not even an outright extension. And no, that's not what I'm rooting for, just what I objectively think will happen, just as I've been saying for a month would happen once we got past the cupcake portion of the schedule.
    • Miami will be their first real test. Even a close loss and I would be content with that at this point. Brandon Miller is probably gonna be out a few weeks with a partial shoulder dislocation. With that being said, the rookies are really impressing me.
