Please Proudiddy for the sake of your online family and those of us that enjoy your message board company, let the Gettlehate go.

 

Proudiddy says silly things sometimes, usually out of emotion, but I really don't think he hates the guy. I am a Gettleman supporter, I haven't agreed with him about everything, but I like him. Quite frankly this "us against them" mentality about him lately is getting tiring.

But the Eagles were 28th in time of possession and won their division.

They're not in the NFC West man. Their division's almost as bad as the AFC North.

AND they had a cake schedule as a result of their bad record the year before

i was wrong they were last not 28th.  They averaged 27 points a game, 33 when Foles played the whole game.  Why does it matter how long they hold onto the ball again?

Do you have any idea what the elite teams' philosophy has been through the history of the NFL? Run the ball, control the clock, and keep the other team's offense off the field. Helps to have a great/elite defense. If the Eagles had their offense on the field MORE, then the other team's offense would be on the field less and it wouldn't even matter much that their defense sucks. How do you think we did so well against teams with QBs like Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, and Tom Brady? We kept them off the field.

 

Do you also happen to remember the Chargers beating the Broncos late in the season??? If you watched that game you would remember barely ever seeing Peyton Manning because they kept him off the field. They have a good offense and a bad defense and won that game through clock control. They made the playoffs doing that same thing, by controlling the clock every game.

You're selectively looking at regular season ToP for teams that didn't have great regular season records (aside from the Hawks and Broncos, but those two each had eliteness on one side of the ball which is uncommon). Look at the ToP stats in the playoff games and the SBs themselves.  If the Eagles had an elite defense they could get away with it, but they have a sh(tty defense. And their offense is not even that great. Wait 'til you see what happens after a year of teams seeing it and losing Jackson... And if McCoy gets hurt again.... They would be lucky to score 10pts/game.  It's not "a strategy" or "the only strategy." It is a part of winning football games. Not the only thing, but it's important to every single team.

You're saying go look at the ToP for one game but I'M selectively looking at stats? Got it.  Yea they both won ToP in the super bowl, but Baltimore lost ToP against Denver and got DESTROYED in ToP by the Colts so according to you they shouldn't have even been in the super bowl to begin with

 

So to recap Baltimore didn't have a great record (10-6) weren't elite on either side of the ball, lost ToP in two out of the 4 playoff games and still won the super bowl.

 

It doesn't have to work for everyone if it works for your team, and it worked for the Eagles.

      Young quarterbacks Drake Maye, Bo Nix, and Bryce Young have led their teams to undefeated records since October.   Drake Maye has guided the New England Patriots to a 5-0 record in that period, with 2,285 passing yards and 17 touchdowns in nine games. Bo Nix has directed the Denver Broncos to a 5-0 stretch, throwing for 1,976 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 7-2 overall start.       1. Cowboys-No explanation needed. 2. Rest of NFC South equally. If I had to pick I would say Falcons.    3. Eagles- Both of the games I have attended there the fans were so horrible. The fan base is so ridiculously misbehaved, I’ve never seen such immaturity. 4- Lions- I have cousins in Michigan that grew up Lions fans and they are some of the most obnoxious people I have ever met, as are all of their Lions buddies. The NFL has been lucky that Detroit has been in the cellar for its eternity.    5. Tie between Bears and Vikings. Both act like Steelers, Cowboys, Niners fans do with nostalgia and legendary seasons but neither have ever really had them. They act like they each won 5 super bowls in previous decades but never accomplished poo outside of Chicago in 85.
