America's most sprawling cities

It's interesting how ragging on fat people is trendy now. You can't just be thin and attractive anymore, you must have that superiority complex too!!

somehow it is socially acceptable to tell skinny people things like

"omg you're so skinny. You need to eat!"

"the winds just gonna blow you away!"

When it's socially acceptable to say "omg you're so fat, stay away from the buffet" or "wow the floor is gonna break underneath you" then we can talk

To be fair, my mom meant Manhattan. I meant Manhattan and where I live in Brooklyn. That site mixes in White Plains and parts of NJ which do not have the walking that we do. I doubt there's any way to find that number. ALSO to be fair, the Charlotte number includes Gastonia. Take that out and your number will be healthier. ;)

I'll take Wilmington all day, every day to a large city.

Only thing I'm missing is professional sports, and I can travel 3.5 hours for that a few times during the fall.

To each their own for sure. Some people like the country, some the beach. Others like city. I like living on an island, I'm right near the ocean, I have nine pro sports teams to choose from, some of the best restaurants in the world, more culture in one city block than other cities have in the entire metro area, four seasons, and so many things to do I'll never be able to do them all. Is it crowded? Yep. But to me, it's worth it. Others want to live on a ranch in Montana. Like I said, to each their own.

Blaming obesity on genetics is pretty trendy in the fat community, I don't see why us fit people can't have our own trends for obesity culture.

Fat people were rare in the mid 20th century. Then there was an explosion of obesity that corresponded with the rise of suburban culture, fast food, and office jobs. That isn't genetic. Being fat is a lifestyle choice for the vast majority of fat people, so to me, they are fair game to rag on.

Maybe that makes me an asshole, but that is one subset of the population I have no remorse for thinking negatively about.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about people that are a little on the heavy side. I'm referring to people that have rolls folding over rolls. It's not natural and it shows a clear lack of self respect.

oh snap!

edit: looked at it and charlotte is 63% overweight OR obese, and new york is only 60% overweight or obese.

We have more really fat people and NY has more moderately fat people.

in NY it's because of the pasta............in Carolina it's the mac & cheese that does it.

    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
    • I mean, our TE room does suck but we had other pressing needs and no surefire upgrades in the draft. I was surprised at how many TEs went in the first three rounds. I think most everyone was. You want a guy who projects at least as a guy who has the potential ceiling to be a starter in those rounds and I didn't see 11 of those in this draft. Off the top of my head, I think that's how many TEs went in the first three rounds. It was in that range. That's roughly 10% of the overall picks. Definitely did NOT see that coming with this TE class.
