Agree/disagree: LaFell is better than Cotchery, Underwood, and Avant

Endpoint bias in numbers not personal bias.

It is the same reason that CRA was claiming that Deangelo is a fumbling problem after he had 2 fumbles in our home opener against Seattle. As most of us suspected it was a fluke.

edit: and the same reason that people were predicting decades of massive hurricanes after 2005.

I think we both know to take anything that CRA says about Deangelo Williams with a grain of salt.

Lafell had a lot of flashes of brilliance but was very inconsistent his time here, but i wouldnt say he is better than the receiving option we currenttly have probably around the same level tbh

the WR corp is still poo, but LaFell had plenty of opportunities here to man up and grab that #2 job. He couldn't do it. Not to mention he was in a contract season this year. I wish him the best in NE but he will be easily replaced.

Lafell. How fans loved to hate him. Now they want him back.

Laughable.

Lafell was consistently inconsistent.

He had plenty of opportunity to earn a 2nd contract.

He is gone, and very understandably so.

Cotchery is consistent, clutch, and a redzone threat.

That makes him better than Lafell, despite the age difference.

His veteran leadership trumps Lafell, who had none.

Avant is reliable, clutch, and a very good blocking receiver. He makes the team.

Underwood I really don't care much about, if he provudes as much deep threat as Ginn did (which wasn't much), then he'll play a role on this offense.

Pretty obvious he isn't. That can be based on basic visual perception from watching him play, or how his drop% was significantly higher than JC or Avants. Sure LaFell had potential but doubtful he ever realizes it.

Good points about the money involved for the four, but I'm talking about strictly from a talent/on-the-field performance viewpoint. If money was equal, I'd take LaFell over the others.

And I think people are interpreting that to mean that I think LaFell is some awesome receiver. I don't. I think he's a B-/C+ like Cotchery is. Underwood and Avant are either C or C-.

I'm a Cotch fan, but apart from age, he's a better receiver than LaFell.  LaFell may have more value going forward because he's still young, but Cotch had ten scores last year as a 3rd receiver.  BF has 13 career.  Cotch had a few down years after back surgery, but he's playing well these days.

 

He's a great third WR for us.  Now we just need to draft a few starters.  You can absolutey do it in this draft.
