XL is very clearly a bust. You try to upgrade over him in the offseason in some fashion(free agency, draft, etc) and get the overall WR Corps improved. If you have a role for him on the depth chart after that, fine. If not, pursue trades or releasing him.

Adam Thielen Requests and is Granted Release

Signing AT would allow us not to play Xavier Legette down the stretch. I feel confident in Adam’s ability to run between the lines. -
So....What Do We Do About Legette?
Dave Gettleman's Shorts replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
bad weather conditions and the gameplan coming into the game was running the ball with only 20 passing attempts XL was blocking his ass off and drew the free safety on T-Mac's game winner -
How's his run blocking?

Bryce might be the most frustrating player we've ever had.
kungfoodude replied to OneBadCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well Bryce wouldn't be off his rookie deal until 2028 and its likely his big cap hits(assuming a top 10 QB contract) wouldn't start really hitting until 2029 at the earliest and 2031 at the latest if it is structured like a lot of the last couple of waves of big QB contracts. A healthy chunk of this core OL will be gone by the time his cap situation gets dicey. A smart team would have good replacement OL on various years of their rookie deals for a healthy chunk of the other four OL spots(assuming Ikey gets a big, long term deal). Mays is unlikely to get significant interest as a starting NFL center, if I had to guess. This is a mirror scenario to BC last offseason where a large part of the Huddle dramatically overvalued his marketability. -

Bryce Young was perfect when trailing
PadresPanthersFan replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce did have a great game. This was a back and forth shootout and Bryce wasn't the reason we fell behind. He was turnover free and made big plays when he needed to and displayed the 1 thing that can't be denied about him- the clutch gene. When he gets the ball at the beginning or middle of a game I'm terrified he's going to do something bone headedly terrible. But when he has the ball and were down and he has a chance to win it I can almost guarantee a victory. If only he could do that the rest of the game -
There’s nothing lazy about this boards BY9 discussion. There are people here doing it 247!! You jerk wads are relentless!!! lol

He had 1 catch for 1 yard in one of the biggest wins in Franchise History. They have literally tried everything with this guy and its not working. Tmac has more yards this season, than Legette has had in 2 seasons. Not sure if he just runs his routes slow or maybe Bryce has no faith in him anymore but if he cant contribute he shouldnt be on the field. I think a benching is in order. Receivers should be TMac, Coker, Renfro, Horn, Legette, Tremayne.

Moton is a lock next year. His dead cap if cut is in the 20s. Hunt is too. His hit is too big. Lewis could be a casualty and Corbett certainly is one. Mays, dunno. If we keep him, unless we plan on drafting a center, he could pursue starting money. That's why I thought paying Hunt and Lewis was insane instead of drafting guards and a center with Icky's contract looming on the horizon. This 5th year and extension is a potential clusterfug. -

@LinvilleGorge would it be possible for the mods to start merging some of these rather pointless and redundant Bryce reaction threads into this one? I mean....it's a little messy at the moment. -
Request: Can someone do a deep dive on our Defense?
h0llywood replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hey man long time no see since the outdoor frozen game in Minnesota. I've been off and on just lurking the last few years but slowly been coming back. -
Oh for sure. It's absolutely nerve wracking knowing that Bryce's camp will be pushing for that extension coupled with Tepper's Panthers history of making terrible decisions.

Lazy is taking someone's point and grossly exaggerating it. Like acting like there isn't a massive gulf between less than 20 attempts and over 40 attempts. Like ignoring that I specifically said "beat a top team". We've beaten two likely playoff teams in the Rams and the Packers. Bryce had 19 and 20 attempts in those games, respectively. Hence my comment that the formula for us to beat good teams is to run the ball, force turnovers, and limit Bryce to under 20 attempts. That's because it has been. That's not "lazy", that's just honestly looking at how to season and the majority of his career has played out thus far. You're just trying to reframe the nature of the argument to fit a narrative that I didn't make that you evidently want to argue against anyway.
-
The Rams weren’t going to be stopped. That game went perfectly for us yesterday. We got two turnovers exactly when we needed and a third spotted us a TD. Bryce was close to perfect yesterday and this is coming from a guy who is pretty much done with him. He gets credit for the good games. He’s made more deep passes the last few weeks than I’ve ever seen.

It’s part of the same scenario I mentioned. Draft or bring in a fa. Only diff is the atl deal is more money and longer term.
-
I wouldn't mind having him back but it would be in a reduced role from when he left, IMO. TMac and Coker should be your biggest two WR options. It would be nice to have another reliable big WR target behind Tremayne. A top three of TMac, Coker and AT would be pretty slick. Especially with Horn Jr. adding a little juice and Tremayne adding some solid play. That's a pretty damn good top 5 WR group.
-
That's a little different than signing a 5th year extension then bringing in another player to push the guy you just extended. Drafting a QB to sit on the bench and learn is how it used to be done and QBs actually perform better generally when they do have that opportunity instead of being plugged into the starting lineup right away.

100% agree just meant Byoung and Tdilfer was the best comparison I have seen . A terrible QB whose team wins despite him most of the time and every so often will have a decent game. With that being said this year in particular alot of teams are winning despite not having really good qb play...the bears and broncos for example -
I'm fine picking up the option if he keeps playing like he did in Atl and he did yesterday. My concern lies in what we've seen from QBs like Mahomes, Allen, Burrow pushing for their extensions at the end of year 3, unlike Lamar who played his out through year 5. Lamar also took a ton of flack for playing on that 5th year instead of pursuing the extension as a league MVP. When/if/how an extension for Bryce falls can change a lot of things regarding how this team looks moving forward.

Not even close Jake was guts and glory at least with Jake if I was pissed it was because he took a ridiculous 50 yard shot into triple coverage. -
Atl spent a boatload on cousins and drafted a player they thought could be the guy.

Imagine moving back to your hometown so your family can “be at home” just to leave them and have to stay in Tampa or KC lol that sht sounds silly as hell. What real contenders need a wr his options are very limited for him to find a team and have an impact on the game. This is crazy embarrassing especially this being your fairwell year what a stupid way to end your career around a brand new team and new teammates for 6-8 weeks lol this is comedy listening to your wife in this situation is hilarious.
