  1. Past hour
  2. Time will tell who was a bad pick at their spot. Nobody has played a down and football yet. Saying it over and over again doesn't make anybody smart or knowledgeable. Wait till the games are played.
  3. Totally. It's also very relative to their development. I had a preferential eye on Penix, Daniels & Ward over the years and they were talked about as legit prospects dating back to 2022 (but opted to return/transfer/declare when they did respectively). Ward's ceiling is pretty dope - I'll always go back to the Was State/Oregon shootout in 2022 that got me fixed on him. He played ridiculous but also made a late iffy decision under pressure that ultimately became a 44-41 loss to Bo Nix and the Oregon machine. But man, he played super. At that time, I know Spielman and Sando had an insider pod talking about these future prospects and how Ward wasn't viewed super highly (yet) but had all the skill to be a top pick...could've been a 3rd/4th rounder in 2023. He kept developing the next year, could've gone higher in 2024, and then went to Miami and showed VAST pocket improvement, propelling him to the top of the draft. So it goes to show there's too many factors to make those year-to-year comparisons a lot of the time. Ward has always had the skillset, and he stayed in school, and showed his development was absolutely legit, became the top pick with more tape and less projection. Other teams are banking on development once drafted (McCarthy), which I'd honestly be a bit more nervous about than Ward. Although he has Kevin O'Connell along with JJ and Addison, which is about as good of a situation you can ask for haha.
  4. I think that he was referring to Rhule and Fitterer's management. His last sentence suggests that he is hopeful in Dan's management. We'll know the answer by the time 2026 is done though.
  5. All of our QBs have been 1-5 at some point. But as I expected you have no names just lots of words that mean nothing.
  6. I still view this year as the real "prove it" one for Bryce. He was great to close out last, so we need to see that it has rolled over and continued to improve within a system that is much more tailored to his skillset. I want to be hopeful.....7yrs has been a long time.
  7. Yeah I think Frank saw Bryce in his offense come that camp and was obviously quite petrified and had to play it cool/mask it. He wasn't a guy curating a modern offense around a player, he had a fixed system and philosophy that just didn't work with Bryce. Then the season rolled around and we saw what that looked like, and Bryce's psyche (and play of course) took a major hit. Combine that with his physical limitations, and it was the recipe for disaster that we all witnessed. Still won't forget how much our staff seemed to be gushing over CJ at his pro day. I still view this year as the real "prove it" one for Bryce. He was great to close out last, so we need to see that it has rolled over and continued to improve within a system that is much more tailored to his skillset.
  8. The day he finally unloads the happenings of that entire process will be very entertaining. It will be very unkind to the Tepper's to say the least.
  9. Watching Hunt's interview makes me think he's really taken the leadership role on offense for us which is huge given the youth we have. Bryce will of course continuing to mature into one but he's a guy I'm very happy to have, even if we're paying premium. I love the guy's energy. Easily one of my current faves:
  10. 100%. In his heart, he absolutely thought he’d have Stroud. What he may have promised will never be known, but I can’t imagine him taking the gig unless he would be allowed to get ‘his guy’. When BY was the pick and day 1 of camp concluded, Frank went in to ‘I’m too old for this ish’ mode. To me, His comments show that he holds no ill will with Bryce, but he is less than enamored with the org.
  11. That’s not true at all. We’ve made some bad decisions, yes, but overall we absolutely are not doing what you stated since Dan took over. I agree with you with Fitt tho. Last year we heavily invested in OL and this year in DL. A mix of vet proven and young potential. Over those 2 years have also slowly built up the WR room. Those are long term foundational type moves. Assume the DL pans out as well as the OL did, you now start adding tier 2 pieces such as LB, S, and TE.
  12. True, but on the flip side we didn’t know if TMac would be there at 8. You gotta roll with guesses at some point and then adapt as things change. Let’s see what Morgan does
  13. Today
  14. I don't think he did it to spite Bryce. Seems like Bryce is a truly decent guy that virtually everyone likes. I do think Frank likely preferred Stroud and was either was led to believe or deluded himself into thinking that he would have a lot more say in the direction we went at QB in the draft. Once we decided on Bryce knowing Bryce didn't fit his system and preferences in a QB it really seemed like the wind went out of Frank's sails and he basically started mailing it in and just waited to get fired and paid out. Maybe I'm misreading the whole situation but that's certainly the way it looked to me from the outside looking in.
  15. Again, it may have nothing to do with Bryce Young. The coaches are thinking about the whole roster. Many guys have said how much different this off-season has been not having to start from square 1 with a playbook, language, etc. You’re talking about bringing in a guy to lead the 2nd team offense who they now have to spend time teaching. Every team is different. This team is young and developing across the board and trying to find some positive continuity. With how Morgan and Canales have approached everything I’m fairly certain they considered all possibilities and decided it was best for the overall team to roll with Dalton for now. They value whatever it is they feel Dalton brings over the extremely low probability of whatever washed out, journey man, reclamation project developing into a franchise QB. You and I have no idea why and aren’t there in the meetings, but it’s clear that the FO sees this young failed franchise QB project as less likely to pan out than you do.
  16. Frank justed wanted to throw Young to the wolves because he wanted to draft Stroud. It was a big FU to Tepper and that is why he only lasted a few games before getting canned.
  17. I would love to have seen ESPN buy all of NFL Films. Surprised INSIDE THE NFL never moved to ESPN (it hasn't been the same since it left HBO for Showtime, and has floundered once they shifted from airing NFL Film recaps to more of a talking head commentary show
  18. Frank Reich excited about Bryce Young’s resurgence after ‘terrible’ start to QB’s NFL career https://apnews.com/article/panthers-bryce-young-frank-reich-8aa35c1c3924d95b3e8253afb94b29d9
  19. Looks like im not watching nfl network anymore. fug espn.

5, 7, 2, 5 that's been the Panthers with Morgan as Asst GM and GM. I think in Tepperland, Morgan is actually setup for things to go south for him real quick and everyone here turns on him. Just takes basically, one more season like the rest. Think Morgan's seat has potential to get drastically hot with a quickness around these parts. and really the 7 win season, was Wilks and the team fugging up the front offices plan/design the second half of that year.
  21. I can see what Dan is doing. We will have a winning team year after year. next draft will be ILB and safety with 1 or 2 OL Dan has a great plan
  22. yeah, the big money totally killed the whole cord cutter streaming move. You like football or basically anything? Well, you just need to purchase 87 subscriptions to watch the season/games/story play out. only good setup right now is the not so very popular MLS. You like MLS pass on Apple airs every team, every game. Even unpopluar stuff like trying to watch Caitlin Clark or something requires jumping from app to app to app.
  23. 9 million on Adam Thielen and 8 million on Andy Dalton (over 100 million in career earnings now) while we have nothing at linebacker is certainly a look. Hey we're just happy to be here!
  24. Part of our problem is that we've been focusing on trying to put the best bad team that we possibly can on the field instead of focusing on building the best foundation to build on that we can. Making short term decisions to try to duct tape together a competitive roster. The end result is that you're going to suck now and you're going to suck later. I hope we're watching us transition into an organization that realizes that's a hopeless approach.
  25. It was a necessary pick given our circumstances. Reaching for a linebacker at 8 would have been rough.
  26. Could have easily gotten Sam Howell in a trade. At the end of the day it seems there are several competitive teams that value legitimate young competition in their QB room because you never know what can happen throughout the course of a 17 game season.

maybe renting a Bobby Wagner might of made more sense than thanking Adam Theilen though back in March if they knew this.
