2026 NFL Combine Thread: 2.26.26 - 3.1.26

If we went LB at 19, the LB at 51 better be head and shoulders the BPA on our board. I was thinking more like 1st or 2nd and then double dipping in the mid-rounda But yeah, if we went LB back to back jn the 1st and 2nd and they turned out like Star and Short I don't think anyone would be complaining. Well, not many anyway. There's always gonna be a few no matter what. LOL -

I have been doing a bunch of mock drafts and this one interesting scenario popped up that made me question myself. I know our needs edge, mike, OT,wr, and secondary. This situation Love fell to 19 and I know we don't NEED a RB. But if we stay out at 19(I don't think we do) I don't think I could say no to love. If this team really believes in BPA and love is there at 19 who realistic is better than love at this point? Love is a top 5 talent, there is no akeem messador or Caleb banks or Kenyon Sadiq type player I think I would rather have than love. He would make Bryce life much easier, he's a homerun threat on a offense that lacks speed. He's essentially modern day Reggie bush to me and I think he could play alongside Chubba on passing down potentially as a slot and be the speed threat we really need. I think it's a bit crazy but I would be willing to wait til the second round and see who falls at edge(I think we land Chubb or loyd in free agency) maybe chase TJ parker if he falls or Rodriguez or golliday in the second/third. What say you?

They have also beaten the Rockets, Lakers, Spurs, and Nuggets...

Panthers give Ashawn Robinson permission to seek trade

He did a nice job for us. Sorry to lose him. Cue the O’Jays -
It seems weird to do that but one of my favorite drafts was Star and Short. Morgan double dipped in FA with the guards. Attack that poo Dan. Realistically, a quality vet FA that is totally up to speed, like Lloyd, and a young sidekick is probably a better plan but I wouldn’t complain if we drafted two.

I'd be all for taking two LBs in this draft. -
You excited because they've beaten Washington, Chicago and Indiana - who all are tanking. Hip Hop Hooray!!! Let's see what they do @Boston, @Phoenix and @San Antonio coming up. If this team is above .500 on 4/1, which is coming off a 7-game home stand, I'll be shocked.

Panthers give Ashawn Robinson permission to seek trade

Just means they informed him that he is cut if he doesnt find a trade partner. With the weak IDL state of free agency there may be a team willing to swap picks in the same round so he doesnt hit the open market. Because obviously his ass is about to be cut. - Today

Because I find it hilarious how many people like yourself thought it was a terrible pick. And I can laugh at that. Don't get your panties in a wad because you are one of the veterans on this board,. Can we all agree this message board is terrible, we have about 10 people that post on it, and think they are the only people with opinions that matter. I also find it funny you respond to my comment, but this comment gets no response. You didn't have to respond at all if you didn't like what I said. "How low has this fan base gotten when 29-31, and 10th in the East has the "fans" in a frenzy of how good this team. Detroit came in here and beat the brakes (literally) off of the Hornets. Kon is a good story, and I admittedly hated the pick (and was wrong). But much like the Panthers, until this team fixes its coaching staff, they will continue be a "maybe we back door into the playoffs every once and a while" organization."

Good time to focus on the trenches in this draft. At least the DL class seems kinda deep and the OL class seems decent. -

Not being a soccer fan, I wouldn’t miss them. But yeah I thought I remembered it. That is tacky, treating your own NFL team like 2nd class to a visiting soccer team.
-
We should get two. Live a little.

Chelsea wouldn't show up otherwise.

How does disliking a draft pick have anything to do with anything? I didn’t like it, thought there’s no way his ridiculous college shooting percentage in a small sample size would carry over long term in the NBA and didn’t think he would be able to stay in front of the ball defensively. Still have questions defensively but overall glad to be wrong. However, once that couple days of debating draft picks subsides, he’s part of the team and I don’t go on and on about it. I also was one of the few Miller over Scoot folks here, but again I don’t really see what it matters what you think on draft day as long as you support the guy once he’s a Hornet.

Yeah it is the concerts. Didn’t he put grass in for some big dog soccer players and then take it right back out? That would piss me off if I were on the football team.

Lots of great, athletic LBs that could easily be taken at the bottom of round one or early to mid round 2. Anthony Hill Jr., Jake Golday, and Jacob Rodriguez all made some money today. -
4:30 am until 9-9:30 pm I think he said. That’s his day. Every day. You can see it on his face, They ribbed him about not blinking. He owned it.

100%, thats why I am normally a fan of trading down and get more pics this draft and better pics for the next one then splurge on a FA when you think the time is right
-
Draft picks are better for cap management and production always outperforms athleticism over time.

awesome interview. Love the guy.

all the trades and using PFFs draft rankings and Gemini's analysis: This is a high-value mock draft that effectively uses trade-down strategies to rebuild the Carolina Panthers' defensive interior and add depth to a roster with multiple holes. By turning mid-round capital into a volume of picks, you've secured several "sliding" stars and developmental high-ceiling players. Based on 2026 PFF big board trends and player value, here is the analysis: Draft Grade: A- The Top Picks: Interior Dominance * 19. Peter Woods (DT, Clemson): Getting Woods at 19 is a steal. Heading into the 2025 season, he was viewed as a potential top-5 talent. While his production dipped slightly, his 4.75 40-yard dash at 315 lbs is elite. He provides the Panthers with a versatile disruptor who can play 3-tech or slide outside. * 63. Dontay Corleone (DT, Cincinnati): "The Godfather" is one of the best pure nose tackles in the class. Pairing him with Woods creates an immediate identity for the Panthers' front seven. PFF loves his "unmovable" anchor. Securing him at the end of Round 2 after trading down from 51/53 is excellent value. The Mid-Round Steals * 83. Deontae Lawson (LB, Alabama): Lawson is a high-IQ "green dot" linebacker. Many scouts projected him as a late 1st or early 2nd rounder before an ACL injury in late 2024. Getting a 2-time Alabama captain at 83 to lead the defense is a massive win for culture and stability. * 130. Drew Allar (QB, Penn State): This is the "high-upside lottery ticket" pick. Allar has prototypical size (6'5", 240 lbs) and a massive arm. His stock fell due to a 2025 ankle injury and inconsistency, but at 130, he’s a low-risk, high-reward backup/successor to Bryce Young if the former No. 1 pick continues to struggle. Trade Analysis & Late Round Value Your strategy of "tier-dropping" (trading 51 for 53/121 and 53 for 63/95) allowed you to stay in the same talent bracket while picking up Kevin Coleman Jr. (WR) and Genesis Smith (S). * 168. Parker Brailsford (OC, Alabama): Great value for a technical center who can compete for a depth spot. * 169. Tacario Davis (CB, Washington): At 6'4", he is a rare physical specimen at corner. PFF and other boards often have him as a Day 2 talent; getting him in the 5th round (via the 161 trade) is arguably your best value pick of the draft. Summary of Picks | Pick | Player | Position | School | Analysis | | 19 | Peter Woods | DT | Clemson | Elite traits; Top-10 ceiling. | | 63 | Dontay Corleone | DT | Cincinnati | Best run stuffer in the class. | | 83 | Deontae Lawson | LB | Alabama | Vocal leader; sliding due to injury. | | 121 | Kevin Coleman Jr. | WR | Missouri | Speed threat to complement the room. | | 130 | Drew Allar | QB | Penn State | High-ceiling developmental passer. | | 169 | Tacario Davis | CB | Washington | Massive reach/length for a late flyer. | Final Verdict You addressed the trenches aggressively and took advantage of "injury discounts" on Lawson and Allar. The only minor critique is that the roster still feels thin at Edge (until the 211 pick), but the sheer volume of talent added to the interior DL and Secondary compensates for it.

But but the concerts Soccer is not the reason we have turf, soccer players want real grass even more than football players.
