I felt like defensive moves were made that would make us better. I saw 0 urgency in trying to get to the passer yesterday so either the DC sucks the scheme sucks or the players suck. I think it's all 3

I thought we would be a little bit better defensively but even with all the signings, that defensive depth chart looked terrible. I just cannot fathom how anyone fell for that poo.

But, PRIME CAM could score points with this OFFENSE! We all know the defense sucks. But if we went 6-11, but average 24 points a game we could live with that because we could then focus solely on the defense for the next 2 off-seasons.

I have worked with many an incompetent or willfully shitty employee that when I asked their supervision/management about them claimed they crushed the interview.

Canales is not on the hotseat as of right now. If Bryce fails, the plan is for Canales and Morgan to get a QB shot in either the draft or FA.

DB is a good player, not a great one. You shouldn't pay a player $25 mil per year to play on the D-line to not get sacks and to not make a big impact against the run. You can find guys on the last 2 days of the draft to do that. In his defense, I think he's out of position. For some reason Tepper is obsessed with this team running a 3-4. Brown would be much more effective overall if he played NT in a 4-3 and had AT LEAST ONE LEGIT pass rusher on the line with him. Still, a DL making 25 mil a year should be a guy who can take over a game, at least several times per year. I've never seen Brown do that.

I wouldn't even bother with Bryce again. Get Dalton ready. If he is still dinged up, try Hooker until you can't stand it anymore and then put Bryce back in until Andy gets healthy. There is little reason to showcase Bryce anymore. It's just hurting the extremely minimal trade value he might have left. If we are lucky, maybe a conditional 5th at the max.

Canales will get the chance to pick his QB next year. Unless Tepper goes full blown Tepper and hires Belicheck or some poo.

I would strongly disagree on TMac. He actually does have a fairly advanced route tree for a rookie WR. XL seems to think a route tree is something you corner a raccoon up before making him stew.

We seem to have drafted two WRs for specific traits: Catch radius and the ability to go up for a contested ball in the endzone. We somehow missed out on things like route running, situational awareness and speed. XL and T-Mac (do they really deserve nicknames based on output yet?) aren't very good at the route tree yet, they don't seem to know to break the play for opportunities when PeeWee gets pressured and the two of them can be timed using Calendars when they are on the field. It used to be our fastest receiver was an aging white dude who was a UDFA castoff from Minnesota. We replaced him with basically the same white dude, just younger, cast off from the Raiders. Yeah, XL sucks, but the process that chose him and chose a partial clone of him again the next round might be the bigger problem.

I am still flabbergasted so many pushed back on my assertion that this was the second worst roster in Panthers history. Like.....how was it not obvious???
