As much as I like Brown. Sooner or later he's going to just tune out same as anyone else. These guys are all human. Look at Jaycee. Acrobatic interception and what was his reward?

What is the reward for anyone on defense to give a herculean effort?

We can't tank without losing the locker room. It will get very ugly.

The QB room needs a change.

Remember when Cam and Smitty had a lite beef a couple months back because Smitty took umbrage at Cam saying when he came here we had a “locker room full of losers”?  Smitty was like “so I was a loser?”  He didn’t get it.  Smitty was always a dog, but losing brings about a stench that lingers.  It’s like an infection that spreads. Even the most ultimate competitors, when subjected to it long-term, suddenly find themselves, subconsciously, giving less.  Doing less.  Staying safe.  Taking the “there’s always next week,” route.  Guys like DB don’t know what winning as a pro looks or feels like.  And when guys like that become the leaders of a locker room, that becomes the culture.  How can you teach others and lead others to winning mentalities when you don’t know how to do it yourself?  And that’s what Cam walked into.  Not everybody, but the majority.  And that’s what Cam referred to.  Smitty had won before.  He wasn’t a loser.  But the majority of the guys in there had gotten used to losing ways and for even guys who had won previously, it’s hard to pull a whole team out of that tailspin when you’re in the middle of it yourself.  Coaches, players, training staff, etc., all get immune to the sting of losing in those environments.  And back when Cam got here it wasn’t even this extreme.  This entire team is full of losers.  Like it or not.  None of them have won before as pros, not here.  And without a spark plug injection at specific spots - and i’m telling you right now Canales isn’t enough - we are stuck in the fuging basement.

Please stop hiding how bad the team is behind the little talent they have. That's how Burns got overhyped, hell they were doing it to Young after his 3 games in 2 years. Just eat the mess you made without making the next mess. No player is saving them from what they built. Deal with that.

Your stance is completely wrong about the Smitty Cam argument. That group wasn't use to losing, that group had 1 awful season because we had no talent at quarterback. Look at that year over year and tell me those teams were losers. Id kill to be inconsistent  year to year as opposed to out right laughing stock like we are now. If Cam wants to see a loser lockeroom he should swing by mint st today

I’m with you, but a .500 season and then a season of 2-14 isn’t winning.  And there are levels to it.  Again, don’t get me wrong, I’m wait you - I would kill to get back to one season on, one season off like it was under JR.  But the vast majority of that team that Fam walked into had not won anything of note.  And if 2 seasons of not winning produced that environment, imagine how horrible of an environment we have now.

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
