  1. Past hour
  2. If evero puts a defense out there that can’t rush the passer…He should be banished to the CFL
  3. Need somebody to track who these players are following. Lloyd, Phillips were all reportedly being followed by Panthers on social media. A few other names I have ran across with recent follows: Taylor Decker, Rachaad White
  4. I will word that a little differently. We can’t afford him the easy excuse of a shambolic OL, if he does regress. We need to have that squared away. Any regression going on, if any, needs to clearly be in his area of responsibility. This is the last chance for gas exit. We can’t afford being fooled and stuck like Tua or Murray or any of those scenes.
  5. Ended the night decent, with a Santa Clara ML win...
  6. Today
  7. Our defense certainly is improving. Thank you Dan!
  8. I agree. I don’t think I have ever been accused of being a Howell fan. No more than fan of some other random QB. But I watched and I saw. He has some talent. Maybe I didn’t watch close enough to see his weaknesses.
  9. He is a pit bull when it comes to that. And after he missed out last year on Williams, it seems he is trying a different approach, looks like. Don’t hold back. No half measures, because someone will come and full measure your ass. Close the deal. He left a little opening for The Patriots last year. He closed so far this year. Of what we know about.
  10. They have been doing the mercenary one year RB now for a little while. Foreman.. It works pretty well. You can find ball carriers. The passing game trips a lot of those guys up. Pass blocking, route running, they have a lot to know. Rico wasn’t a great pass blocker but he got in the way most of the time. He is a really good pass catcher. He’s tough. Needs to find out why he was cramping late in the games. If he can fix that maybe can step up even more. Wish him luck. I think he’ll do well. If Brooks can be something, what a bonus that would be at this point. I really believe they went for him because of his extra layer with being a good receiver. And we need more of that with what we are working with trying to move the ball.
  11. Nijman was good in spot duty last year. Def better in the run but so is icky
  12. Ah yes, I remember when Lloyd played the elephant position.
  13. Rico was a DAWG! Absolutely balled out for us. Sad to see him go, but happy we finally learned our lesson about paying RBs. Wish him nothing but the best.
  14. It was clear we weren't going to bring in a real competitive option at QB in FA so I hope we at least pick someone they're excited about in the draft from a potential stand point.
  15. Mad respect for his run in the middle of the season which was a big part we ultimately made the playoffs. Struggled down the stretch but he’s a solid back. Hope he does well, but I’m fine letting him walk.
  16. One thing you can say for Morgan is that when he sees a big weakness he attacks it in the offseason. First year was ol. Last year was d line. This year was 2nd level d. They haven't always worked but at least he doesn't just sit on his hands and pray that it gets better.
  17. I expect Andy Dalton, A'Shawn Robinson, and Tommy Tremble to be cut. Damien Lewis will be extended by a year to free up cap space and a few guys will be restructured
  18. From NFL reporter Matt Lombardo: The Carolina Panthers, at the time of signing, committed the most money in NFL history to a free agent pass rusher, plucking Jaelan Phillips from the Philadelphia Eagles, on a deal that includes $80 million fully guaranteed. Now in Carolina, Phillips is the centerpiece of an ascending defense that produced just 30 sacks while backing into the NFC Playoffs. Only eight edge rushers produced more pressures than Phillips’ 73 last season, which included 57 hurries, according to Pro Football Focus, which makes it easy to see why a Panthers organization that is looking to take the next step would pay a major premium at a premium position. In a division as wide open as the NFC South, Phillips and Derrick Brown are as formidable a duo up front as there is, certainly good enough to power a playoff push. https://bsky.app/profile/mattlombardo.bsky.social/post/3mgnnj2hojk27
  19. Per NFL reporter Matt Lombardo, a lot of deals were "made in a steakhouse over the last few weeks" The deals that drop at 12:01 are the ones that were never really in doubt. They’re the marriages that had been quietly arranged for weeks. Meanwhile, the genuinely contested signings, the ones where multiple teams are legitimately competing for the same player, those tend to resolve in the days between tampering and the official start of the new league year on Wednesday. That’s why you see the most coveted players “agreeing to terms” today, and by Wednesday both players and teams are shopping for ideal fits to fill needs and the best opportunities rather than making decisions built largely on securing a market-setting bag. https://bsky.app/profile/mattlombardo.bsky.social/post/3mgn4nawxmc2o
  20. I think you can also move Scourton inside like that too. Hopefully Wharton can stay healthy get going this year
  21. Exactly. You and me are the only ones pushing this - at least that I've seen on this board.
