Popcorn Ready? Gabriel to wear #2 in Cleveland?
MrBubba replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Looking like it. Quick review of Schefer X line doesn't show the post -
He's 6'4 220 with a 78" wingspan and the opposite work ethic of Kelvin Benjamin...... He'll be aiiight

Exactly why I never liked the idea of taking Walker, just felt he was a bad fit as an OLB in a 3-4 at his size. As an OLB in a 4-3 where he's more of an off ball LB and situational pass rusher he could be a really good player. But you don't take a 4-3 OLB at 8 in general, let alone when you run a 3-4 base, so I was just always against that idea even if he had gotten a #1 WR before the draft and wouldn't have been looking at T-Mac anyways.

I love how he pitches XL as a guy to draft for fantasy this year I still think XL has real potential as a #2 to T-Mac, but even if he improves from last year, he's not going to be a very good fantasy guy this year. We're a run first team, T-Mac and Thielen will always be Bryce's first and second reads, plus T-Mac will be the red zone target. My guess is XL still has a few big games here or there, but he's going to be a very up and down game log based on what the defense is doing that week and will be an impossible fantasy starter because of it.

They were probably so upset because they knew the can of worms it was about to open on them when ownership dictated that pick. Because there is absolutely a scenario where he goes in there and looks like he might deserve the job. Flacco has looked decent as a backup the last few years, but one of these seasons he's going to show up to camp and father time will have ended his career. Pickett sucks and it's not like Gabriel is a can't miss draft pick either. There is a very real chance that Shedeur shows in camp that he should be the starter and then the coaches have to either play him and deal with the media around it, or sit him with fans calling to play him and also deal with the media around it. -
So when someone of Polynesian heritage has a child, they should give them an everyman American name so it's easy for fans to call them by their real name just in case they become a star athlete 20 years later because American's don't like to learn how to pronounce names from other cultures?

Is this fake news? I can't see the tweet or anyone else reporting this, if it was true it would be all over the internet by now. -
That's encouraging news to hear - I still worry about his ability to beat press corners. if he cant, we should at the very worst be able to run him at the slot and get him open

Official 2025 NHL Playoffs Thread

Crazy how terrible the dude is in the playoffs -
Yeah, you want actual Panthers fans to succeed. Same with poor Will Levis a few years ago. You just wish the local ACTUAL Panthers fans(very rare in the first place), pan out. But, alas, it is what it is. I don't know if it is as simple as having Ikey switch to RT immediately. I think the cleanest switch would have been to attempt that for him as a LG. But, we spent a fuging shitload of dough on our IOL.

PFF raves about our draft. The best class in the whole draft?
WhoKnows replied to Panthers Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seriously? You think we might have 4 or even 5 starters the next couple years from last year’s draft? Wallace and Legette were starters because of injuries and no good depth. We’ve already resigned Thielen and drafted TMac. I’d be shocked if Legette isn’t WR4 (snap/target/production wise) behind those two and Coker. I’m not Sure if Wallace will stay a starter with Rozeboom. Smith-Wade might be the likeliest starter for now because we didn’t draft a CB. We’ll see if he sticks. Sanders may also start but the starting TE is like being the tallest midget. We’ve had about 500ish receiving yards from TEs each of the past 3 years whether it was Thomas/Tremble or Tremble/Hurst or Tremble/Sanders. Honestly, if Evans can stay healthy, the fact that he can actually block (unlike Thomas who sucked but was called a blocking TE) and catch could make him the best starter we have at TE. Also, Brooks missing two of four rookie contract seasons and caused us to draft Etienne in the 4th and sign Dowdle. Sorry man, you’re smoking some serious hopium trying to justify last year’s draft as if it was good. We are one of the worst talented teams in the NFL over the past 7 seasons and sometimes that means that we get a lot of rookie contributors but it doesn’t mean it was a good draft. Until the rookies are actually above average starters it’s like going from Thomas to Tremble to Sanders to Evans. There’s no impact to our win total until one of them actually is more than just a starter because we have to play someone. One last nugget, we won’t be a playoff team if 25% of our starters are from the 2024 draft. -
At the end of the day his momma should’ve just named him better. This is some weird sh*t “please everybody please call him this, he asked super nicely”

Popcorn Ready? Gabriel to wear #2 in Cleveland?

Sure looked that way. That draft room looked like a funeral when the pick was announced and they'd already taken a QB two rounds earlier. Did not seem like a decision made by the folks in that room. Said it during the draft. -

I really think they were ordered to draft him. They can say what they want, but there was no joy in Mudville when he was picked. Before this, the Browns were having a good draft. SS had to know the reason he dropped--his poor interviews, feeling of entitlement, etc. and when Gabriel trolls him, he acts as if the number was his--at least, that is the implication. It was an aggressive move by Gabriel, but Sanders, under these circumstances, should not have taken the bait. -

You have to see it heading that way. Flacco should say "I want #2" -

It does. Poop and his jersey is brown. Now we are rolling. -
It's funny that people want to make up new nicknames for people who have said what they prefer to go by.

Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8
tukafan21 replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Saw a great stat today, T-Mac was 2nd in the nation last year in 3rd down conversions without a single drop, while we didn't have a player who ranked in the Top 45 in 3rd down conversions last season.
