Adam Thielen Requests and is Granted Release
Wolfpredator replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, just looked up his stats for Dallas and he has done absolutely nothing, I get he is injured right now but even before that. Crazy good trade for a literal bust -
Adam Thielen has not had "tremendous success" Even TMAC has been directly thrown under several buses for not hauling in Bryce Young's at time poorly placed passes. Bryce on that touchdown throw to Coker was one of the best I've seen and what I expect to see. THAT is the ball placement we need from our starting QB if we are going to win this division.

He's been IR'd and when healthy- inactive on a few game days. I think he's had 8 total catches since the trade, he's been a total non-factor. 4th right now is 100% W for the Panthers, even if it was used on trevor etienne. -
If he returns to start next season and we see the same old starting season poo, they would be fool's not to bench him quickly. In fairness, Bryce also hasn't had the same successful streak that he had post-benching in 2024. He's just been mostly bad or mediocre with blips of really, really good this season. It's illogical to continue this process much further because it's too much of a limiting factor. He isn't as good as Trent Dilfer or Nick Foles, so what is the path to the ultimate success even?

Look at the Bears and their record. Plus 17 in the turnover total. -

Stating the obvious, it is called complimentary football. Offense has to do it’s part to get the turnovers and stops cashed in. Unless defense totally takes it into their hands. One of those picks scoring would probably have made a big difference, Monday. Offense at least keeping their defense on the field yesterday in that 3rd quarter paid off with the run game later. -

Honestly, if that works, IDGAF. I would rather see those reps go to guys like TMac and Coker, however. Especially since they appear to be a significant part of our future at the position. But, cheating for a few games to get past Tampa wouldn't be the worst thing in the world....IF it works. -

Buffalo makes more sense than KC. They have far bigger issues at WR. -
Selective sample sizing isn't going to make Bryce Young a franchise QB. How he and the team finishes the season is all that matters. If we win the South and get into the playoffs then he will have basically ended the conversation for the foreseeable future. That however should not under any circumstances preclude the team from overhauling the QB room and adding a younger QB with potential behind him. That is what a serious team concerned with winning would do regardless of what transpires to conclude the season. I would hope virtually all of us can agree on that.

Request: Can someone do a deep dive on our Defense?

Man talking ball on THIS website... who would have thought! -
That's fine but why are all these other WR's having tremendously more success than XL? AT, Jalen Coker, TMac, etc. The issue isn't completely Bryce here, it's XL. Now, would he be better with a better QB and a better system? For sure. But he also wouldn't be seeing much of the field in a lot of those other "better" scenarios because those teams do a far better job of evaluating talent and calling offenses.

Brother, there is a list of stuff I do not understand that is nearly touching the moon. (it started with bottle water...). Gambling is no different, but Im just more confused at betting against your favorite team. It is ultra tough for some to remain responsible, short story- knew a family friend that owned a truss building business, he gambled away millions and died owing many people. I had a correction officer and he told it was impossible to prevent inmates form gambling. "They will bet on which fly leaves first or which water drops first". But I also try my best to live by not telling others how they spend their money, if you're not hurting anyone physically or mentally and its not costing me money, its none of my dam business. I even recently read about a true sick man- Terrance Watanabe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrance_Watanabe -
Im sure he would contribute more than Legette but not really interested for our situation.

No. You do it

We would be very lucky to have XL be as productive overall as Funchess was here, TBQH. It's not looking great. I will say that XL is a more efficient player than Funchess was. Funchess career Per Game(Carolina only): 5.1 Targets, 2.64 Rec, 36.6 Yds, 0.34 TD, 1.95 First Downs, 51% Catch XL Career Per Game: 5.07 Targets, 2.85 Rec, 29.0 Yds, 0.26 TD, 1.52 First Downs, 56.2% Catch

Yeah it's a blessing they are still a part of the team in some capacity even if they are basically just fans like us now. Hopefully we can finish the season strong and snag this division title and restore the vibe. Everybody needs it.

I wasn't aware football games were decided by the number of passes that went 10 yards downfield.

From the moment Big Kat said the following he lost 7 of 9. Here’s your chance to be debt free…. Always and I mean ALWAYS bet against the Carolina Panthers -
Nuance is not allowed in the Bryce discussion. You pick a side. Everything must be black and white. If you are true anti Brycer you must never concede Bryce made a good throw. If he throws a dot you must call it a duck and say you saw it flutter. If he has a good week, or is improving in weak areas, it’s because we played the falcons or the running game carried him. Any good deep throw is pure dumb luck and happened to fall in the receivers hands.

It amuses me greatly that there are actually people who want to give this guy more free contract money while we have Andy Dalton here basically stealing money from us.

I've watched this highlight several times. So many people want to criticize Young because he's doesn't throw down the field very much. However, if you watch this highlight and focus on the ball placement, It's a perfect throw. He leads Hubbard perfectly. He hits him in stride. He's full speed in a moment. If he throws it too far in front he probably doesn't catch it or loses his balance enough that he gets tackled. Too far behind and he has to slow down a bit and doesn't get up to speed in time to score. Bryce pinpoints a perfect throw, and Hubbard blows by everyone and scores. It was a great play.
