BREAKING: Panthers make “meh”ssive changes to front office
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's a fine balance. You need elements of both. -
The Canes physically dominated 2 of the top 16 teams in the league this calendar month. If you truly believe Florida is just that much more physical than us, then what does that say about the rest of the league? Why didn't they go 82-0 this year, if they are orders of magnitude better than every other team?
-
I like our starting 2. Would like to see some veteran depth.
-
Doesn't really make sense for us or him, IMO. We are still a few seasons away(assuming things go well) from being a serious contending team and he will be over the hill at that point. Seems like more of a consideration for the "win now" franchises.
-
we probably aren't interested (I would be). But with the massive improvements on our DL via FA and the draft, the DBs will have an easier job this year
-
Why is it so hard for some people to understand its not about similar styles and one team is better at it than the other. Its about 1 team, us, that isnt even playing their own style and look demoralized from the moment the puck drops and then playing like dogshit. That is all on Rod.
-
Respectfully man if your entire argument is based off of a simple pff score lookup then your argument is severely flawed. There is a reason Mike Jackson signed a two year 10 million dollar deal and Jaycee is one of the highest paid corners in the league. Secondly, I don’t get the comparison to our huge need at pass rush last year. What does our massive and historic lack of talent at rushing the passer have to do with a weakness on this years roster?
-
I think they weren't given the best chance to.
-
Yea they lost the SC finals 2 years ago to Vegas which plays the same way. Big neanderthal forwards that beat people up and score dirty goals.
-
Of course I'll admit that. He doesn't have the strongest arm either. On top of that, he tends to not throw with a lot velocity on purpose, opting to anticipate where the receiver will be rather throwing it to him where he is. Will you admit that our receivers (at least in the last 2 seasons) couldn't make defenders miss in the open field?
-
There is beauty in the absurd, my friend.

I think it funny you guys want Rods head when the team that is kicking his teeth in is playing his style of game with better players. That style wins. Problem is we are way too soft to match the physicality that Florida brings (as are most teams judging by the easy work that the canes made of the devils and capitals as well as the panthers winning the cup last year and well on their way to making their third consecutive final).
-
He'll need a walker by the time we're competitive.
-
How is Jaycee a stud but Mike Jackson is below replacement level? Their overall PFF grades from last year are almost identical. Our depth isn't great beyond that, but the position isn't a chasm of talent like pass rusher was last year.
-
I would agree to the need. But would be against the compensation in terms of a trade or cap. Honestly, if Im trading for any position its for another o-line. I like that position on paper.. I have an uneasy feeling about the health of our starting RT...
-
Not doubting the talent, but not for me, if it is my decision. We are planning for the future. Ramsey would not be a future decision.
-
I'd try a 4th and see. It would be nice as long as we don't give up too much.
-
Maybe. On the other side of 30 everything gets dicey. Some guys hold up a long time but most guys show up one day and they got old overnight.
-
Rumor around the league is a third round pick, or something in that range.
-
I totally get this perspective, my only counter argument would be I think Jalen will play atleast another 4-5 seasons in the league. He is a true DB rather than only an outside corner, I could totally see him play the next few years at corner and transition to safety in his latter half of his career ala Charles Woodson. I think he would last longer on the team then the average 3rd round pick in the league.

PANTHERS @ HURRICANES ROUND 3 GAME 1
PantherChris replied to PantherChris's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Its masochistic at this point my friend, rod's lost this team Svechnikov went free lance trying to make things happen, its only a matter of time before no one believes in it. -
Please give me your perspective, from mine our corner room is a gaping hole. Jaycee is a stud, but behind him we have essentially nothing outside of a below average cb2, bad NB and no depth.
-
Also Andrei Svechnikov has absolutely lost faith in the system its why he was out there trying to freelance and make somthing happen.
-
Its nepotism his best friend runs the power play
-
Its the same on Facebook too..... casual fans throwing a fit at me because I told them these guys are multi millionaire professionals and deserved to be booed because we paid to see that sh*t show
